Overview
The Sr. ROW Agent reports to the Lead Agent or ROW Supervisor and possesses comprehensive knowledge of right‑of‑way disciplines, including title, permitting, acquisition, and documentation. The role requires expertise in property valuation, survey drawings, and alignment sheets.
Responsibilities
- Assist the ROW Supervisor in providing guidance to ROW Agents.
- Secure permission to enter properties from landowners and tenants.
- Negotiate ROW options, easements, fee interest, and curative documents while maintaining the ROW price policy.
- Develop construction lines based on restrictions imposed by landowners or tenants.
- Maintain detailed diaries of contacts and prepare weekly activity reports.
- Log all payments and negotiate damage settlements as required.
- Support construction activities and document all ROW activities.
- Adhere to the project Safety Plan.
Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree preferred or relevant experience.
- SR/WA or other IRWA designation, Notary Public.
- Experience in right‑of‑way or real estate services for public organizations.
- Broad knowledge of procedures for acquiring real property interests and knowledge of laws and regulations related to real estate transactions and eminent domain.
Professional Experience – Technical Skills
- Experience as a ROW agent or related ROW position.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including spreadsheets and word processing.
- Detail‑oriented with excellent analytical and quantitative skills.
- Specialized knowledge of land services activities, land description, surface and subsurface rights, ROW document analysis, and negotiation.
- Ability to work independently, make decisions, and use judgment.
- Creative problem‑solving and mature judgment to resolve business and technical challenges.
Professional Experience – Communication Skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for preparing reports, specifications, applications, and correspondence.
Professional Experience – People Skills
- Ability to interact with all levels of management and diverse constituencies.
- Commitment to customer satisfaction and teamwork in a team‑oriented environment.
Physical, Environmental, and Mental Requirements
- Lifts and/or moves up to 35 pounds; uses good judgment and appropriate assistance or back support.
- Requires clear vision, distance vision, color vision, and adjustment of focus during computer monitor use.
- May sit, use hands and fingers, handle tools, reach with hands and arms, stand, walk, stoop, kneel or crouch as required by duties.
Department/Location Specific Requirements
- Perform other tasks as required during duties; must be able to travel as dictated by job requirements.
- Work primarily in a well‑lighted, temperature‑controlled office; frequent field and client site visits; interruptions for meetings.

Compensation
USD $75,400.00 – USD $84,500.00 per year, commensurate with experience, education, skill level, and location. Additional participation in the company’s discretionary bonus program may be eligible.
