Job summary

Ebbot is seeking a Sr. Right of Way Acquisition Agent in California. This hybrid role combines residency with field travel to support multiple acquisition phases.

The agent will manage title, permits, and documentation and lead negotiations for land rights and easements essential to construction projects. Ideal candidates bring at least five years in ROW, deep knowledge of property valuation and land records, and strong communication to coordinate with landowners and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of experience in the Right of Way industry.
• Knowledge of title, permitting, acquisition, and documentation procedures.
• Very knowledgeable about property valuation, survey drawings, and alignments sheets.
• Ability to plan, negotiate, and complete ROW transactions independently.
• Strong written and oral communication skills; customer focused.

Responsibilities

• Research, negotiate, and select lease or purchase agreements and rights-of-way for construction projects.
• Identify land ownership interests, surface rights, and permits required; secure permits as directed.
• Oversee land-related legal matters including title transfers, deeds, mortgages, and zoning issues.
• Prepare reports and documentation for easements, settlements, and permit acquisitions.
• Coordinate with landowners/tenants and internal teams to resolve conflicts and ensure project progress.

Identifies and provides details of all required construction permits and permit requirements and acquires permits as directed.* Oversee all land-related legal issues, including transfers of titles and deeds, construction, mortgage concerns, and zoning.* Responsible for resolutions and other legal forms related to land acquisitions. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.* Prepares adequate daily activity reports and prepares special agent's reports relative to complex negotiations for easements, damage settlements, and/or permit acquisition.
