Position Overview

The Sr Robotics Engineer, Powertrain owns robotics standards, offline programming, reliability, and safety validation for AMP-2 Powertrain — covering both Drive Unit and HV Battery robotic populations. Joining a greenfield facility, this engineer sets FANUC, ABB, and KUKA standards from first commissioning through volume ramp-up. The role is accountable for robot uptime, cycle time, and safety compliance for the entire Powertrain robot fleet. The role operates through disciplined change control, objective launch evidence, cross-functional problem solving, and structured transfer of technical ownership to the Saudi workforce.

Key Responsibilities
1. Robotics Standards & Architecture
  • 2. Define and enforce robotics standards across FANUC, ABB, and KUKA populations
  • 3. Establish naming, positional, program, and safety-configuration standards
  • 4. Own robot BOM standards including controllers, teach pendants, safety modules, and EOAT interfaces
Offline Programming & Cell Design
  • 1. Own offline programming environments (FANUC RoboGuide, ABB RobotStudio, etc)
  • 2. Perform reachability, collision, and cycle-time simulation for new cells and cell modifications
  • 3. Support cell layout, safety zoning, and human–robot collaboration design
Robot Reliability & Uptime
  • 1. Own robot uptime KPIs across the Powertrain fleet; drive downtime reduction through structured analysis
  • 2. Establish robot PM strategy including grease, encoder, battery, and cable-track maintenance
  • 3. Lead RCA for robot-related breakdowns and cell downtime
Cycle Time Optimization
  • 4. Own robot cycle time optimization to support takt achievement
  • 5. Deploy structured cycle-time reduction using motion tuning, path smoothing, and program optimization
Robot Safety Validation
  • 1. Own robot safety validation
  • 2. Coordinate with EHS and Automation on safety-PLC integration, light curtains, and interlocks
  • 3. Ensure safety validation records are maintained and audit-ready
HV Safety & Compliance
  • 1. Enforce HV LOTO, HVIL continuity, and mandatory HV PPE for all work on or near EV Powertrain equipment
  • 2. Comply with SASO, Saudi MOL, IEC 60204, and functional safety standards (ISO 13849 / IEC 62061)
