Morning Brew seeks a writer for Brew Markets, our successful investing newsletter that takes Morning Brew’s approach to business news deeper into markets and investing.
Morning Brew aims to make a complex business world more conversational and interesting to millions of readers looking for a news source that values their time and speaks to them like normal human beings. We have a natural opportunity to go even deeper on these companies and stories and take our approach to business news coverage into the world of investing - whether public, private, venture, crowdfunding, etc.
This position will report to the Editor of Brew Markets. The ideal candidate will be extremely interested in investing, have an in-depth understanding of how capital markets function, and be able to craft compelling stories most relevant to our audience.
Being able to convey the brand’s fun, informative, trusted personality through your writing is a critical piece of being the right fit for this role.
You should have a distinct writing voice that at the same time embodies Morning Brew’s style: witty but not cringe, informative but never dry, and, above all, memorable.
This job will require you to work closely with your editors and cross-functionally with creators, designers, and other writers at Morning Brew. Being a team player and getting along with peers is essential. You should also be flexible: We're in high-growth mode at Morning Brew and a game-for-anything attitude is a must.
Candidates with more than four years experience writing about markets and investing are strongly preferred.
Morning Brew is based in New York City.
$85,000 - $90,000 *Final offers for this job will be made within the parameters of the salary range provided, commensurate with experience. Total offer package to include benefits highlighted under our perks section below.
