Job summary

Simtra BioPharma Solutions, based in Bloomington, Indiana, seeks a Sr. Refrigeration Technician to join a high-performance maintenance team within a pharmaceutical production environment.

You will help ensure reliable utility systems and support equipment, reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, and contribute to on-going operations. Responsibilities include preventive and corrective maintenance, installation of cooling and refrigeration equipment, thorough diagnostics, and compliant handling

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining utility systems in a pharmaceutical production environment.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex refrigeration and HVAC equipment.
• Familiarity with preventive and corrective maintenance procedures in GMP settings.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, troubleshoot, and perform preventive and corrective maintenance on utility systems and manufacturing support equipment.
• Support shift Lead Maintenance Technician in completing work priorities.
• Install cooling and refrigeration equipment, run refrigerant lines, and connect electrical circuits per specs.
• Safely remove, recycle, and add refrigerant gases following environmental rules.

This role:

The Sr. Refrigeration Technician works as a key member of a high-performance team responsible for supporting daily manufacturing operations and associated utilities equipment in a pharmaceutical production environment. This position reports to the Maintenance Supervisor.

The Responsibilities (these are primary responsibilities of the role and the incumbent will perform other duties as assigned):

• Monitor, troubleshoot, and perform preventive and corrective maintenance on utility systems and manufacturing support equipment, ensuring reliable and compliant operations while completing detailed work order documentation
• Support shift Lead Maintenance Technician in the completion of work priorities
• Installs new cooling and refrigeration equipment, including running refrigerant lines and connecting electrical circuits in accordance with technical drawings and specifications. Diagnoses and troubleshoots equipment malformations, identifies defective components such as compressors, fans, and coils, and performs repairs or replacements as needed. Conducts routine inspections and preventive maintenance activities, including cleaning coils, checking refrigerant and oil levels, and evaluating system performance to minimize downtime and prevent unexpected equipment failures.
