Job summary

Abbott in Menlo Park, CA, is seeking a Senior R&D Engineer to provide mechanical engineering support for new medical device products (invasive and non-invasive) within the Structural Heart division.

You will lead concept development from design to market, create processes to transform concepts into commercial devices, and document across all phases of research and development while contributing to IP filings and collaborating with vendors and cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in related field required; Masters preferred.
• Minimum 6 years related work experience with medical devices.
• Wide application of technical principles, practices, and procedures.
• Experience with CAD.

• Maintain detailed documentation throughout all phases of R&D.

As the Senior R&D Engineer, you will be responsible for providing mechanical engineering support in the creation and the development of new medical device products (invasive and non-invasive).

Required Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree in related field and/or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Masters Degree preferred.
• Minimum 6 years related work experience with a strong understanding of medical device.
• Wide application of technical principles, practices, and procedures.
• Experience with CAD.
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Team player
• Will perform this job in a quality system environment.
• Work on problems of diverse scopes where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.
• Exercise judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.

The base pay for this position is $90,000.00 – $180,000.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
