Job summary

Minth North America, Inc. in Michigan seeks a Sr. Quality Engineer to lead manufacturing quality initiatives for new products and APQP activities. This hands-on role includes customer interaction and collaboration with production and engineering.

You will own FMEA, control plans, PPAP, and quality data interpretation, travel 20-25% to customers, and drive continuous improvement. 10+ years of experience and AIAG Core Tools knowledge required.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in manufacturing quality with hands-on process oversight.
• Strong engineering background and ability to read blueprints / GD&T.
• AIAG Core Tools Training (APQP, PPAP, D/PFMEA, Control Plan, etc.).
• Auditing certifications for IATF16949, VDA, ISO14001 standards are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead and interact with customers during APQP and new product launches.
• Create/Update APQP documents including FMEA, Control Plans, and Flow Diagrams.
• Follow AIAG APQP procedures and customer-specific requirements.
• Support PPAP submissions and continuous improvement activities.
• Address non-conformances with corrective actions and reporting to management.
• Maintain an up-to-date quality system in line with standards.
• Collaborate with production and engineering on quality issues.
• Produce quality reports for executives and customers.
• Coordinate read-across continuity with other Minth facilities.

Job description

Our Quality team is expanding and looking to add a Sr Quality Engineer. We are looking for a dynamic and driven candidate who is interested in joining a fast-growing global company in the automotive sector.

Duties

The Sr. Quality Engineer will be responsible for fulfilling the role of manufacturing and quality expert; this is a hands-on position with customer interaction. Works closely with customers and other departments during process development and APQP for new products. Ensure the quality of the parts produced meets all customer expectations. Quickly and effectively take action when non-conformances are found. Maintain and improve quality management system to comply with established standards. Other duties includes:

• Initiate and maintain customer interface and support
• Create/Update all APQP documents including FMEA, Control Plans and Flow Diagrams.
• Follow AIAG APQP procedures and Customer-specific requirements
• PPAP submissions
• Continuous improvement of plant scrap, process capability, and quality cost activities
• Responsible for addressing customer concerns through corrective action activities, action plans, customer-specific reporting techniques, etc.
• Maintain a quality management system to ensure compliance with all relevant standards and customer-specific requirements
• Partner with production and engineering on quality-related issues
• Creates quality reports and action plans for reporting to executive management as well as customers
• Works closely with other Minth facilities to ensure read-across continuity of systems
• Responsible for other duties or special projects as assigned

To be a qualified candidate you must meet the following:

• 10+ Years of Manufacturing Quality experience
• Strong engineering background
• Knowledge of roll forming, bending, welding processes and testing requirements
• Auditing certification for IATF16949, VDA, ISO14001 standards
• Ability to read and interpret Blueprints / GD&T
• AIAG Core Tools Training (APQP, PPAP, D/PFMEA, Control Plan, etc.)
