G&W Electric is seeking a Sr Quality Engineer to lead quality initiatives across production operations, drive root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.   • Bachelor-level engineering degree required.
  • 5+ years in quality engineering or supplier quality roles recommended.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and Six Sigma/Lean principles.
  • Experience with PFMEA, APQP, and supplier quality programs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Manage nonconformances and NCR closures.
  • Drive containment and quality improvements on the shop floor.

Sr Quality Engineer

Sr Quality Engineer Reporting to the Quality Manager this position develops maintains and improves all aspects of G&Ws quality program as it relates to production operations This includes but not limited to shop floor problem solving root cause analysis FMEA NCRs Control Plans and Supplier issue management Additionally this position will develop ISO auditing and supplier quality along with APQP process skills for career growth As a Sr Quality Engineer you will Managing the implementation of methods and procedures for process control and improvement to ensure products meet ideal standards This includes designing experiments to understand sources of variation affecting products and processes and applying statistical process control SPC methods for data analysisManage and resolve customer quality issuesCollaborating with the supplier quality team to address quality problems ensure corrective actions are implemented and contribute to supplier quality improvement programsLeading troubleshooting efforts for quality issues with diverse teams conducting root cause analysis activities and driving short term and long term corrective actionsParticipating in engineering design reviews and providing recommendations to enhance the quality and manufacturability of new designs esp PFMEAUtilize Failure Mode and Effects Analysis FMEA to identify and mitigate potential failure modes in processes and productsApplying sound and systematic problem solving methodologies to identify prioritize communicate and resolve quality issuesPerforming operational Material Review Board MRB walks and consolidating failure data for analysisManage Non Conformance Reports NCR and implement corrective actionsGetting root cause analysis and correctivepreventive actions in place while ensuring adherence to the 8D methodologyInvestigating first pass yield failures and implementing corrective actions to prevent similar failures from occurring in the futureEnsuring containment activities are performed when non conformances are discovered to prevent repeat issuesWorking as a team member on various cross functional High Impact Project teams to address quality related challengesReporting quality issues performance metrics and status updates to management and other department team members as needed Additionally communicating with engineering suppliers and operations regarding issues process improvements or other activitiesConducting internal audits based on ISO 9001 standards to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvementOther duties as assignedWe are looking for someone with Bachelors degree in Mechanical Materials Chemical Electrical or Industrial Engineering3 5 years experienceStrong knowledge of quality assurance methodologies tools and standards eg ISO 9001 Six Sigma Lean ManufacturingProven experience with root cause analysis and problem solving techniquesExcellent analytical and data interpretation skillsProficient in using quality management software and toolsStrong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamDetail oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and qualityIdeally you will have Certification in quality engineering eg CQE Six Sigma Green Belt or Black BeltExperience with statistical process control SPC and advanced quality planning AQPFamiliarity with industry specific quality standards and regulationsPlant operations or issue resolution experience preferred
