Role Name: Sr. Provider Relations Representative
Location: Columbia, SC 29203
Work Environment: Onsite
Schedule: 8:00 am-5:30 pm. A flexible 8‑hour workday – possibly some overtime and off‑hour shifts, but not regularly.
Contract Length: 7‑month assignment with possible conversion
Job Summary
Provides education and training for network providers, staff, suppliers, physicians, beneficiaries, and referral agents as necessary. Develops and produces all training and educational materials.
Day to Day
- 60% Develops, prepares, reviews, and updates all provider education materials—including web‑based training, computer‑based training, ACT (Ask the Contractor) calls, outreach presentations/proposals, listserv articles, news highlights, calendar of events, job aids, resource tools, and web page content. Conducts and facilitates meetings, workshops, training classes, and teleconferences with providers and group members.
- 25% Develops relationships with providers, provider groups, staff, suppliers, physicians, beneficiaries, referral agents, and state/local medical and professional associations. Responds to educational needs and acts as liaison between the division and these groups, ensuring training needs are met. Responds to and resolves problems/issues identified through meetings, workshops, correspondence, etc.
- 10% Performs administrative functions in support of education and training. Produces and generates various reports to management and provides feedback on activities.
- 5% Contributes to special projects as assigned.

- Demonstrated skills related to classroom presentations to large groups.
- Working knowledge and understanding of government healthcare programs and HIPAA policies and procedures.
- Demonstrated proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, and database software.
- Good judgment skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency in spelling, punctuation, and grammar skills.
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
- Analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Basic business math proficiency.

Required Software and Tools

Required Education
Bachelor's degree, OR 4 years of job‑related experience, OR a combination of education and experience.
Required Work Experience
4 years of experience in customer service, claims processing, communications, education/training, provider relations, healthcare, or a combination.
