Job summary

GFT is seeking a Senior Project Manager, Water to join our Water / Wastewater Team in Southern California. The role follows a hybrid work model with offices in Los Angeles, Irvine, Chino Hills, Ontario, Long Beach, Santa Ana, or San Diego, California.

You will lead projects in water resources, including dams, treatment, and conveyance, while advancing sustainability and compliance. The ideal candidate has 15+ years of management experience on large water/wastewater projects, PES licensure in CA,

Responsibilities

  • Prepare proposals, budgets, and client agreements
  • Lead and oversee design and technical aspects of the team projects including detailed engineering design and calculations, report writing, permitting, and presentations to clients
  • Write responses to client RFQs and Solicitations
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with clients, public agency officials and community leaders
  • Coordinate and monitor project tasks, budgets, and schedules
  • Participate in the development of company design and production standards
  • Direct and manage the implementation of a project including coordination with project stakeholders, consultants, contractors, and other external and internal parties to achieve project milestones
  • Oversee and manage construction phases of projects to ensure works are completed in accordance with the contract documents, on time and budget
  • Participate in professional associations and civic organizations within the community
  • Support client marketing and business development activities required to procure project assignments, including development of scope, schedule and budget for proposals.
  • Mentor staff and lead development of other PMs

What You Will Do

What You’ll Be Challenged To Do

In this role, you will work closely with our technical experts, project teams, and client service managers to advance our technical services and support business development on a wide variety of wastewater and water resources projects in California.

In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Prepare proposals, budgets, and client agreements

Education | Experience:
What You Will Bring To Our Firm
  • Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from an ABET accredited college or university.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) designation in the State of California.
  • 15 or more years' experience managing substantial water and wastewater projects from conception to completion.
  • Demonstrated strong project management skills.
  • Successful record of delivering projects on schedule, budget and meeting the client's Ability to provide oversight and guidance of project management fundamentals.
What We Prefer You Bring
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with demonstrated ability to conduct effective presentations and written report preparation.
  • Knowledge of water treatment, wastewater treatment, recycled water is a plus
  • Knowledge of local codes, development processes, and utility regulations
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects and deliver on time and with budget
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with clients, public agency officials and community leaders
  • Proven ability to lead a team of engineers and technical professionals
  • Actively involved in professional associations and civic organizations
Compensation

The salary range for this role is $145,000 - $225,000. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
