Job summary

Barry-Wehmiller Design Group in the US seeks a Senior Project Manager to lead front-end planning and development of process and packaging systems for Food, Beverage, and CPG clients. You will drive capital projects from concept through execution, partnering with seasoned leaders, technical specialists, and client teams.

You will mentor peers, manage project budgets, and ensure alignment with client objectives and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years leading the development and design of process and packaging systems.
  • Experience with GMP manufacturing facilities.
  • Experience in front-end project development, budgeting and client interaction.

Responsibilities

  • Lead front-end programming, planning, schematic design and design development of process and packaging systems within CPG facilities.
  • Provide client and technical leadership in capital projects for Food, Beverage and Consumer Packaged Goods clients prior to design and construction.
  • Develop long-standing client relationships based on trust and technical competence.
  • Oversee project plans, resourcing, and budgets to achieve investment objectives.
  • Focus on scope, schedule, and budget to satisfy client needs and deliverables.
  • Analyze and develop manufacturing solutions to meet client objectives for new and existing facilities.
  • Mentor technical and planning professionals within the firm.
  • Manage client communications, proposals, and presentations to clients.

When you join BW Design Group as a Sr. Project Manager, you are joining a team that will challenge you and position you for growth. In this role, you will work with a team of industry experts to help the world's leading companies convert capital spending initiatives into executable solutions. You will join our Project Development & Planning group and partner with seasoned leaders, technical specialists, and subject matter experts to deliver the highest quality front-end planning and project development solutions to our clients with consistency and accuracy.

What You'll Do

Lead the development of diverse and complex projects in the Food, Beverage, and Consumer Packaged Goods markets. By applying sound judgment and facilitating robust cross-functional solutions, you will drive the front-end planning and project development for manufacturing-focused capital investments.

  • Lead the development of front-end programming, planning, schematic design and design development of process and packaging systems within CPG manufacturing facilities.
  • Provide client & technical leadership in the development of capital projects for Food, Beverage and Consumer Packaged Goods clients prior to design and construction.
  • Develop long-standing client relationships that are based on trust and technical competence.
  • Expertise in project development and execution including; development of project plans and strategies, project resourcing, and overall project budgets that can be executed to achieve the client's investment objectives.
  • Focus on overall project success and accomplishment of objectives related to scope, schedule, and budget, as well as critical elements of client satisfaction and client development.
  • Analyze and develop specialized manufacturing solutions to meet the client's objectives for new and existing cGMP facilities.
  • Maintain knowledge of Food, Beverage, and Consumer Packaged Goods industry standards, best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to technical and planning professionals within the firm.
  • Project Management Tasks include; client leadership, client development, defining client goals and objectives, management of project financials, client and vendor correspondence, technical analysis, solution development and presentation of deliverables to the client.
  • Lead and/or assist on client requests for proposals, develop customer presentations, interface with current and future client representatives, and perform other duties as needed.
  • Make an impact day-to-day with your skills and expertise, strengthening that relationship with our clients and the Design Group team.
What You'll Bring
  • 10+ years of experience leading the development and design of process and packaging systems, including; programmatic design, schematic design, design development, construction documents, permit acquisition and field implementation.
  • Leadership skills and experience with a drive to grow and expand local and regional clients.
  • The ability to lead design of GMP manufacturing and distribution facilities.
  • An understanding of facility operational requirements, people and material flows, adjacency schemes, environmental classifications, food safety, GMP and an understanding of various industry regulatory requirements
  • A working knowledge of local, state, and federal building codes
  • Experience in the development, design and execution for greenfield and brownfield facilities as well scope development to be completed within operating facilities.
  • Experience interfacing with clients and in establishing long-term client relationships.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and client interaction abilities.
  • A willingness to travel for project requirements including client meetings, facility assessments, operational reviews, construction and start-up activities, client and company sponsored meetings.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Manufacturing, or a closely related discipline.
