Duke Energy is seeking a Senior Project Manager to serve as the primary business owner for EPC contractor relationships within the Gas Generation Program. This role drives alignment, accountability, and performance across engineering, procurement, and construction activities.

The ideal candidate will lead with strong stakeholder engagement, strategic oversight, and data-driven improvements to delivery. Hybrid work arrangements and travel are required to support the program's multi-project

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required and 7+ years related experience OR High School/GED with 11+ years related experience.

Responsibilities

• Single point of accountability for EPC contractor relationships across the Gas Generation Program.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with EPC partners and internal stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain, Legal, Project Management, Construction, and Project Controls on performance, commercial matters and improvements.
• Monitor EPC performance across the program to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
• Lead efforts to address systemic issues affecting multiple projects or workstreams.
• Support project teams throughout the lifecycle with guidance on commercial and execution challenges.
• Coordinate construction and project performance reporting and ensure timely communication to stakeholders.
• Assist in development of monthly program reporting, executive dashboards, and governance materials for senior leadership.
• Facilitate cross-functional reviews focused on contractor performance and program health.

The Gas Generation PMO is seeking a highly motivated leader to serve as the primary business owner for Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contractor relationships across a multi-billion-dollar gas generation program. This role will provide strategic oversight of EPC engagement, performance management, risk identification, and continuous improvement initiatives across the program. The successful candidate will partner closely with Project Management, Supply Chain, Project Controls, Construction, and EPC leadership teams to drive alignment, transparency, and accountability throughout the project lifecycle. This individual will leverage data, performance metrics, and industry best practices to identify emerging trends, address systemic issues, and improve overall program execution. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence the successful delivery of critical generation assets while shaping long-term EPC partnership strategies across the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the single point of business accountability for EPC contractor relationships across the Gas Generation Program.
• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with EPC partners and internal stakeholders to support successful project execution.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain, Legal, Project Management, Construction, and Project Controls teams on contractor performance, issue resolution, commercial matters, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Monitor program-wide EPC performance and identify trends, risks, lessons learned, and opportunities for improved execution.
• Lead efforts to identify and address systematic issues affecting multiple projects, contractors, or workstreams.
• Support project teams throughout the project lifecycle, providing guidance and facilitating effective resolution of commercial and execution challenges.
• Coordinate construction and project performance reporting across stakeholders, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and timely communication.
• Support development of monthly program reporting, executive dashboards, and governance materials for senior leadership.
• Facilitate cross-functional reviews focused on contractor performance, program health, risk mitigation, and execution excellence.
• Promote best practices, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement across the Gas Generation program.

Basic/Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 7 plus years work related experience
• OR, In lieu of Bachelors degree(s) AND 7 year(s) related work experience listed above, High School/GED AND 11 year(s) related work experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Project Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience leading complex capital projects.
• MBA, Master's degree, PMP, PE, AACE, or other relevant professional certification.
• Familiarity with utility operations, project controls, commercial management, and contract administration.
• Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
