Job summary

• Manage stakeholders including owners, delivery teams, vendors, and participants.
• Conduct governance meetings and maintain clear project communication.
• Provide accurate and timely portfolio reporting.
• Monitor risks and issues and escalate as thresholds are reached.
• Ensure alignment with lifecycle, governance, and delivery standards.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to manage medium and standard-complexity IT and/or capital projects from initiation through successful completion. The Project Manager will be responsible for day-to-day planning, execution, monitoring, control, reporting, and project closure while following established project lifecycle, governance, and delivery standards.

The ideal candidate will have strong project delivery experience, excellent organizational and communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects while maintaining strong project controls and proactively escalating risks and issues.

Required Qualifications

• 5–10 years of experience managing IT and/or capital projects in a structured, governed environment.
• Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects concurrently.
• Strong experience with waterfall project delivery.
• Exposure to hybrid/agile methodologies.
• Experience with project lifecycles and system upgrade projects.
• Strong RAID log, scheduling, baseline, dependency, and change-control discipline.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong stakeholder management and project reporting experience.
• Candidate must currently reside in California.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience delivering projects within the utility industry preferred.
• Professional Services (PS) delivery experience preferred.
• Experience with vendor-delivered implementations.
• Experience with modernization and enterprise-system projects.

Experience Requirements

• 5–10 years of hands-on project delivery experience.
• Demonstrated success managing several concurrent projects through completion.

Certifications

• PMP (PMI) strongly preferred.
• Equivalent globally recognized project management certification considered.
• CAPM or equivalent may be considered for candidates at the lower end of the experience range.
