Director of Projects will be instrumental in direct project management, sales support and initiatives, and partner satisfaction.

Duties

  • Strategic Leadership: Define and execute project delivery strategy, standards, and KPIs for repeatable, scalable project execution. Partner with Business Development and Sales leadership to align backlog, capacity, and generate new opportunities.

  • Project Delivery and Financial Performance: Own P&L for assigned projects: scope, estimating, margin protection, change management, and closeout. Ensure projects meet schedule, budget, quality, and safety targets. Drive continuous improvement in estimating accuracy, schedule predictability, and margin recovery.

Translate complex OT/controls solutions into client‑facing proposals and commercial terms. Oversee technical quality: review P&IDs, PFDs, control narratives, PLC/HMI architecture, and FAT/SAT plans.

  • People and Vendor Management: Support hiring, mentorship, and develop project managers, engineers, and technical leads. Manage external partners, panel shops, and subcontractors to ensure compliance with Atlas OT standards.

  • Risk, Compliance, and Safety: Enforce safety, security, and compliance requirements on projects and client sites. Ensure customer‑mandated safety training and background/drug screening requirements are met.

  • Standards Development: Develop, manage and enforce best practices, industry standards, and Atlas OT Quality Management System.

  • Hybrid schedule with regular on‑site project presence; average workweek may exceed 40 hours with extended periods near proposal deadlines. Travel to client sites and vendor facilities as required.

  • Experience: 10+ years in industrial automation, controls, or EPC project delivery with progressive leadership responsibility; proven track record in oil & gas, energy, manufacturing, water/wastewater, or heavy industrial sectors. PMP, PE, or relevant project management/certification preferred.
