Job summary

The Richard Group in Butler, PA is seeking a Sr. Project Manager to lead complex construction projects within Operations.

This role requires strategic oversight, risk assessment, and strong collaboration with owners, engineers, and subcontractors to deliver on time and within budget. You will manage schedules, budgets, and quality across multi-discipline teams, build P6 schedules, and ensure regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering.
  • 10–20 years' experience with a hard-bid general contracting company.
  • Understanding of construction materials, means, methods and building systems.
  • Experience in federal sector projects.
  • Experience in healthcare projects.
  • Proficient in MS Office, Adobe and Bluebeam.
  • Willingness to work on any shift due to hospital construction demands.
  • Experience with Davis Bacon-Prevailing wage or Union projects.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug test.
  • Desire to stay and grow with mentoring and training.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise project start up, completion, punch list and close-out.
  • Lead costs, planning, scheduling, engineering, supervision and management of personnel.
  • Coordinate with project team to maintain schedule, safety, budget and quality.
  • Plan and organize quality processes including pre-activity meetings and material management.
  • Write and comprehend RFIs, change orders, schedules and 3-week look-aheads.
  • Communicate clearly with home office, Owner and Subcontractors.
  • Write contracts, negotiate scope and terms, ensure subcontractor compliance.
  • Manage owner contracts, subcontracts and purchase orders.
  • Manage subs in a hard-bid capacity and ensure subcontractor compliance.
  • Manage schedules, SOVs, org charts, and submittal approvals for all DIV 01-33.
  • Oversee equipment, labor and material mobilization, permits and 3rd party requirements.
  • Lead internal and owner project meetings and develop content.
  • Build P6 schedules with cost/resource loading and review production reports.
  • Manage P&L, change orders, KPIs, lead/lag metrics and vendor pay apps.
  • Handle T&Cs, stop work orders, VAAR, FAR, AIA clauses.
  • Manage warranty, commissioning, CPARS, PPQ and client satisfaction.

Job Summary

As Project Manager, you will act as day-to-day project leader and provide overall management for assigned projects. You must be able to prioritize, act systematically, ask questions without hesitation, vet out assumptions, and ensure successful project completion and client satisfaction. You will be responsible for making decisions while appropriately weighing risk and reward and should be proactive in bringing resolutions to issues on time. Your primary focus will be to ensure that all projects are delivered within the established budget, timeline, and quality standards while adhering to all relevant federal regulations and guidelines. You will be accountable for managing project resources, coordinating with various stakeholders, and maintaining effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise project start up, project completion, punch list identification and entire close-out process
  • Provide leadership for multiple aspects of controls including costs, planning, scheduling, engineering, supervision and management of personnel
  • Effectively communicate and coordinate with all project team members to maintain project schedule, safety, budget and quality control efforts
  • Plan and organize quality processes such as work planning, pre-activity meetings, material management, incident reports and corrective actions
  • Ability to write and comprehend RFIs, potential change orders, project schedules,
  • 3-week look-aheads and other project documents
  • Ability to clearly communicate to home office, Owner and Subcontractors
  • Ability to write contracts, negotiate scope, negotiate terms and conditions, subcontractor compliance and owner compliance
  • Have working knowledge of owner contract, subcontracts and purchase orders
  • Ability to manage subs in a hard-bid capacity understanding subcontractor
  • contract scope and holding subcontractors to their contracts
  • Ability to manage schedules, SOVs, org charts, management plans, submittal review and approval for all DIV 01 - 33
  • Oversee the management and mobilization of equipment, labor and materials to include permits and other 3rd party requirements
  • Ability to run both internal project meetings as well as owner project meetings - develop content, manage BIC, etc.
  • Experience building P6 schedules with cost and resource loading, and understanding of all schedule and production reports to owner and company management
  • Manage sub and self-performance production with the capability of adding and removing craft staff, or modifying work plans to expedite schedule
  • Manage P&L, change orders, key P\performance indicators, lead and lag measurements and vendor pay applications
  • Manage T&Cs, stop work orders, VAAR, FAR, AIA and other related clauses
  • Ability to manage warranty, commissioning, CPARS, PPQ and client satisfaction
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering
  • 10-20 years' experience with a hard-bid general contracting company
  • A thorough understanding of construction materials, means, methods and building systems
  • Experience in federal sector projects
  • Experience in healthcare projects
  • Ability to utilize Microsoft Office, Adobe and Bluebeam
  • Excitement about working on any shift, 1st, 2nd, or 3rd, as hospital construction occurs at all hours
  • Experience in Davis Bacon-Prevailing wage or Union required projects
  • Ability to pass a background investigation and a drug test
  • A desire to stay and grow with a company that will help mentor, train, and educate you
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with the Department of Veterans Affairs
  • Arbitration and Mediation experience preferred
  • OSHA and EM-385-1-1 management, CAPP management, Safety Reporting Systems Management
  • Experience managing projects $20MM+
