Job summary

Moog is seeking a Senior Project Engineer, Test Equipment, to design and develop hydraulic, electro-hydraulic, electro-mechanical, servo-mechanism and electro-pneumatic test systems for Moog products in military, commercial, and space programs. Onsite Buffalo, NY or Arvada, CO locations, with leadership in cross-functional teams and program management focus.

The role requires a Bachelor's in engineering, 5+ years of experience, and the ability to obtain a U.S.

Qualifications

  • Experience with electromechanical hardware design, analysis, development and production.
  • 5+ years engineering experience.
  • 3 years leading technical projects or initiatives.
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance.

This position is responsible for design and development of new test equipment, assemblies, and/or processes to meet cost, schedule, and performance goals.You will contribute to the design of test equipment to verify functional performance of products used on military, commercial, and space vehicles. Your primary concerns are system or component performance and integration...and achieving both within budget and prescribed schedules. You will coordinate the work of drafters, technicians, designers, analysts, manufacturing engineers and others who assist in specific assignments. Facilitative leadership will also be required with program management, quality engineering, and operations. This role will keep you challenged by taking advantage of your knowledge, experience, and skills in technical coordination and communication.**As a** **Senior Project Engineer, Test Equipment,** **you** **will**:* Establish and monitor engineering project budgets and schedules.* Validate conceptual problem solutions by performing trade studies and analyses.* Prepare successful proposal designs, cost estimates, and shoulder the responsibility for writing the technical volume.* Operate as a key element in a team of creative, independent individuals.* Coordinate and support the assembly of test equipment.* Mentor younger engineers where and when appropriate.* Work closely with the internal program teams to provide the design of specialized test equipment, systems architecture and interface definition, and requirements validation.* Lead the design process and provide technical leadership within Moog’s program scope.**To be considered for the** **Senior Project Engineer, Test Equipment****, here’s what you’ll typically need to bring with you**:* Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Aeronautical, or Electrical Engineering* 5+ years of engineering experience* 3 years of leading technical projects or technical initiatives* Must have the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance* Demonstrated understanding achieved through experience in the design, analysis, development and production of complex electromechanical hardware.* Self-starting instincts and strong analytical skills, both required to fulfill the demands of design and development of new products.* Experience with component design, development and verification testing.* The ability to effectively communicate technical and programmatic information and to manage competing priorities of multiple stakeholders.At Moog we solve our customer’s most difficult problems in an environment founded on mutual respect.
