Job summary

Hitachi Energy USA Inc. in South Boston, Virginia, invites a Senior Value Engineering Leader to drive value engineering across medium and large power transformer programs.

You will lead DtV initiatives, optimize costs, and partner with global teams to improve competitiveness and manufacturability. You will develop data-driven business cases, guide projects from concept to implementation, and deliver measurable savings while aligning with ERP processes such as SAP.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Experience with power transformer design strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency with 3D modeling and design tools; PTC Creo experience preferred.
  • Experience with FEA simulation tools such as Creo Simulate, ANSYS, or equivalent.
  • Proven success leading engineering projects, delivering measurable savings, and utilizing ERP systems such as SAP.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Design-to-Value (DtV) initiatives to improve product competitiveness and operational performance.
  • Identify cost reduction and productivity opportunities using DFMA principles.
  • Analyze product costs, BOMs, and manufacturing data to uncover improvements.
  • Develop data-driven business cases and implement initiatives supporting productivity and cost optimization.
  • Lead engineering projects from concept through implementation, monitoring progress and risk.
  • Collaborate with global engineers to standardize best practices and drive innovation.
  • Partner with manufacturing teams to deliver scalable, cost-effective solutions.
  • Support introduction of new products, materials, and technologies with tech transfer and standards alignment.
  • Ensure compliance with external and internal regulations and guidelines.

How You’ll Make an Impact

Your Background
