Clear Concepts, Inc. designs and builds customized automated assembly equipment for diverse industries. The Sr. Project Engineer will guide a project from concept through completion, overseeing design, timelines, budgets and team responsibilities.

The role requires strong mechanical design skills, hands-on experience with welding and fixtures, and familiarity with robotics and vision systems. You’ll interact with customers and suppliers and report to the Mechanical Engineering Manager.

Formación

• BSME or similar degree with strong mechanical design skills.
• 5+ years of project design experience for fully customized automated production equipment.
• SolidWorks proficiency.
• Experience with welding, fixture design and GD&T.
• Desirable: robotics, vision systems, computer controls, data acquisition.
• Desirable: direct experience with customers and suppliers.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven ability to manage large projects to a timeline.
• Good computer skills.

Responsabilidades

• Own the overall design of a custom automated machine contracted for a client, leading a design team on larger projects.
• Break down design work, assign tasks, timelines, milestones and hold the team accountable.
• Incorporate robotics, vision systems, welding, fixtures, controls, material handling, laser/plasma cutting, hydraulics, pneumatics, high-speed assembly and packaging as needed.
• Regularly communicate project status to customers and the management team.

Our client designs and manufactures fully customized automated assembly equipment for their customers and they need a Sr. Project Engineer. You will be responsible for taking a project from concept to completion. This includes understanding all technical issues potentially affecting your project such customer specifications, cycle times, pneumatics, hydraulics, etc. Continually assess the impact of these issues to your project and facilitate corrective action, maintain project budget, and engineering design release schedule integrity. You will report to the Mechanical Engineering Manager.

What you will be doing:

• Responsible for the overall design of a custom automated machine contracted for by a client. If a smaller project, you may do this on your own or if it is a larger project, lead a team of Design Engineers and outside design contractors.
• Manage resources and breakdown the design effort for large projects into manageable design tasks and clearly communicate the design time, tasks, timeline, and milestones to your team and hold them accountable.
• Your designs may incorporate robotics, vision systems, welding, fixtures, controls, material handling, laser or plasma cutting, hydraulics, pneumatics, high-speed product assembly, and packaging
• Communicate regularly the status of your projects with customers and the management team

• BSME or similar degree with strong mechanical design skills
• 5+ years of project design experience for fully customized automated production equipment (NOT a base product that can be slightly modified for the customer)
• You must know SolidWorks
• You must have experience with welding, fixture design and GD&T
• Any experience with robotics, vision systems, computer controls, data acquisition experience is desirable.
• Direct experience working with customers and suppliers is desirable
• I nterpersonal verbal and written communication skills are extremely important
• Proven success managing, facilitating, or controlling a group of people or large project to a timeline and schedule is desirable
• Good computer skills are needed
