Job summary

AspenTech is seeking a Sr. Project Engineer to deliver end-to-end SCADA/EMS/GMS/ADMS projects using the monarch platform, including planning, design, integration, testing, training and commissioning at sites. A strong background in utility use-cases (Electricity, Gas, Water, Renewables) is preferred.

Responsibilities include leading deployment, providing system design, and coordinating with customers and internal teams. Travel to domestic and international sites is expected as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, Systems Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in automation, real-time control, and power systems.
• Experience with AspenTech DGM (OSI monarch) suite and software development.

Responsibilities

• Design, plan, integrate, test and commission hardware and software requirements on customer systems.
• Perform installation, integration, and testing of hardware, software and systems.
• Own troubleshooting efforts for variances and deploy resolutions promptly.
• Define project requirements via customer communication and relay to departments.
• Lead deployment of complex and dynamic control systems as project techncial lead.
• Provide networking and system/application design.
• Customize system, hardware and network configuration per customer needs.
• Provide customer support per contract maintenance and warranty terms.
• Assist in creating training materials and project documentation.

As a Sr. Project Engineer, you will be responsible for end-to-end delivery of SCADA/EMS/GMS/ADMS projects using the monarch platform, including planning / design / integration / testing / training / and commissioning at site. Your Impact

• Design, plan, integrate, test and commission hardware and software requirements on customer systems.
• Perform installation, integration, and testing of the hardware, software and system.
• Own troubleshooting efforts for discovered variances and deploy resolutions in a timely manner.
• Define project requirements through customer communication and communicate the requirements to other departments, as necessary.
• Work as the project technical lead responsible for deploying complex and dynamic control systems.
• Provide networking and system/application design.
• Customize system, hardware and network configuration based on customer requirements.
• Provide customer support and assistance per contract maintenance and warranty.
• Assist in creating training materials and project documentation as needed.

What You'll Need

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, Systems Engineering or related field.
• Strong technical background in automation and computers with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in one or more of the following: power systems, electric utility operations/dispatch, real-time control systems, client/server applications, network communications, UNIX / Linux / Windows operating systems.
• Experience in software programming and scripting (Python, C / C++).
• Experience with the implementation of AspenTech DGM (OSI monarch) suite of software.

Preferred

• Experience with CAD, Visio or similar software preferred.
• Experience in Database structures (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Mongo, Cassandra) preferred.
• Experience with JSON, XML preferred.
• Experience with common utility protocols (ICCP, DNP, IEC, MultiSpeak) preferred.
• Excellent organization, interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Strong commitment to providing superior customer service.
• Ability to work on several projects in parallel in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability and flexibility to travel to domestic and international customer sites.

Salary: The salary range for this role is $87,700.00 - $109,600.00. This range represents what we in good faith believe is the range possible for base compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range based on several factors. This range may be modified in the future. This role is also eligible for bonus or variable incentive pay. Additionally, we offer a comprehensive benefits package including paid time off, charitable giveback day, medical/dental/vision insurance, and retirement benefits to eligible employees.
