Barry-Wehmiller Companies Inc. is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to join our Packaging Engineering Practice. You will collaborate with industry experts to deliver high-quality solutions, manage packaging automation integrations, and lead project teams across multiple client engagements.

The role emphasizes leadership, client relationship growth, and travel to client sites or project meetings. A strong technical background in engineering and project management is essential.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent technical degree.
  • 5+ years of project engineering experience with packaging lines, automation, or manufacturing applications.
  • Pharmaceutical, medical device, biotechnology experience preferred; food & beverage, personal care, or chemical experience is a plus.
  • Candidates must have strong communication and interpersonal skills across all levels of management, clients and vendors.
  • Candidates should have outstanding engineering and project management skills, including machinery applications, computer skills (MS Office, MS Project, AutoCAD & SolidWorks) and analytical abilities.
  • Willingness and ability to travel for project requirements (installation, start-up, meetings, trainings, etc.).
  • BS in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering or equivalent technical degree is required.

  • Support capital projects and implement solutions for clients as part of a team.
  • Help clients improve performance and achieve their most important goals.
  • Oversee all project execution aspects: line layout, mechanical design, vendor/contractor management, procurement, schedule management, finances, site management, and installation support.
  • Organize and execute multiple project responsibilities simultaneously.
  • Maintain and grow solid client relationships.
  • Document information, integrate packaging automation lines, and lead project teams.
  • Grow local and regional client base.
  • Make an impact daily with your skills and expertise in client and team interactions.

In this role, you will work with a team of industry experts to help the world’s leading companies solve their most difficult problems. You will join our Packaging Engineering Practice and partner with seasoned leaders, technical specialists, and subject matter experts to deliver the highest quality solutions to our clients with consistency and accuracy.

What You’ll Do
  • You will work individually and in teams to support capital projects and implement solutions for our clients.
  • Together, you will help our clients make critical changes to improve their performance and realize their most important goals.
  • Accountability for all aspects of project execution including line layout engineering, mechanical design, vendor/contractor management, equipment procurement, schedule management, project finances, site management and installation support.
  • Simultaneously organize and successfully execute multiple project responsibilities.
  • Maintaining and growing solid client relationships.
  • Converting information into project documentation, managing integration of packaging automation lines and leading project teams.
  • Grow and expand local and regional clients.
  • Make an impact day-to-day with your skills and expertise, strengthening that relationship with our clients and team.
What You’ll Bring
  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent technical degree is required.
  • 5+ years of project engineering experience with packaging lines, automation, or manufacturing applications.

  • Candidates must have outstanding engineering and project management skills, including machinery applications, computer skills (Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, AutoCAD & SolidWorks) and excellent analytical, organization and communication skills.
  • Successful Design Group Project Engineers have leadership skills with the ability to grow business.
  • Willing and able to travel as necessary for project requirements to include but not be limited to: project installation and start-up activities, client meetings, company sponsored meetings, trainings, industry related seminars, forums, or conventions, etc.
  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent technical degree is required.

The approximate pay range for this position is $100,000 - $130,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location of the position.
