Job summary

BioMérieux seeks a Project Coordinator within the Instrument Operations team to provide strategic oversight of high-impact initiatives driving product/process development, enhancements, and lifecycle management. You will strengthen Instruments Manufacturing capabilities and support customer needs while contributing to continuous improvement of the Operations PM framework.

The role requires collaboration across sites and functions, with responsibility for scope, schedule, budget, and quality,

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Engineering, Technology, Life Science, Business, or Project Management.
  • Education substitution: 4 years of additional relevant experience accepted in lieu of degree.
  • 5+ years PMO/project management experience within a PMO or similar environment.
  • Regulated manufacturing environment experience (IVD/medical devices) incl. ISO 13485 & FDA 21 CFR Part 820.
  • PMP Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead projects' scope, schedule, budget, and quality requirements.
  • Align projects' goals with organizational strategy.
  • Shape business cases, charters, and benefit/value tracking.
  • Develop project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, vendor evaluations, and reviews; ensure standards compliance.
  • Troubleshoot with problem-solving tools to resolve process/product issues.
  • Perform risk analysis, change control, verification, and validation activities.
  • Define and check BOM, assembly instructions, and test procedures for manufacturing.
  • Maintain stakeholder communications; provide status updates on milestones, risks, issues.
  • Promote best practices, team development, and quality control across execution.
  • Lead cross-functional, cross-site, multi-country coordination; manage risks with mitigation.

Job description

Position Summary

This role serves as a project coordinator within the Instrument Operations team, providing strategic oversight of high-impact initiatives that drive product/process development, product/process enhancements, and lifecycle management. These efforts are aimed at strengthening our Instruments Manufacturing capabilities and efficiencies to support market position and addressing the evolving needs of our customers. In addition, this role contributes to continuous improvement of the Instruments Operations Project Management framework.

Working Conditions (Summary)

The position may require remaining in a stationary position for prolonged periods, ascending and descending stairs, ladders, and ramps, wearing PPE, operating heavy machinery, and moving objects up to 50 pounds. Domestic travel is 5% and international travel is 5%, for a total travel requirement of 10%.

Primary Duties
  1. Leads project teams, ensuring projects' scope, schedule, budget, and quality requirements are met
  2. Aligns projects' goal and priority with organizational strategy
  3. Shapes business cases, charters, and benefit/value tracking
  4. Leads the development of project plans, schedule and budget estimation, and resource allocation
  5. Conducts or assists with feasibility studies, vendor evaluations, and proposal reviews, ensuring compliance with project standards
  6. Troubleshoot and utilize problem-solving tools to resolve issues with process and/or product.
  7. Perform reviews related to risk analysis, change control, verification, validation, and other functions within the department.
  8. Define, review, and check product Bill of Materials (BOM), assembly instructions, and test procedures for implementation into Manufacturing.
  9. Maintains regular communication with stakeholders, clarifying expectations, and providing status updates on project milestones, risks, and issues/solutions
  10. Promotes adherence to project management best practices, support team development, and ensure quality control throughout project execution
  11. Leads cross-functional, cross-site, multi-country team coordination
  12. Proactive project risks management in identifying critical risks and implementing robust mitigation plans
  13. Perform all work in compliance with company quality procedures and standards
  14. Support change control processes or lead activities as needed
  15. Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Bachelor degree required in Engineering, Technology, Life Science, Business, Project Management
  • Education Substitution: In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, 4 years of additional relevant experience, defined below, will be accepted.
  • 5+ years of professional related experience with degree (Program/project management within a PMO or similar environment)
  • or 9+ years of professional related experience in lieu of degree (Program/project management within a PMO or similar environment)
  • Regulated manufacturing environment experience, ideally within IVD, medical device, or life sciences, including knowledge of ISO 13485 and FDA 21 CFR Part 820.
  • Proven track record managing product lifecycle or manufacturing process and systems projects from concept through launch with accountability for scope, schedule, budget, and compliance.
  • PMP Certification preferred

The estimated salary range for this role is between $77,700-$116,500. This role is eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and individual performance per bioMerieux’s bonus program. This range may differ from ranges offered for similar positions elsewhere in the country given differences in cost of living. Actual compensation within this range is determined based on the successful candidate’s experience and will be presented in writing at the time of the offer.
