Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Sr Project Controls Professional for a site-based assignment with openings across Spartanburg, SC; Baton Rouge, LA; and Corpus Christi, TX, with future on-site work across the U.S. You will lead cost control, forecasting, and EVM data, coordinating with construction teams and vendors.

The role requires 15+ years in project controls, a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, CCP/CCM/PMP/RMP certifications preferred, and willingness to travel to on-site projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in engineering, construction management, finance, or related field.
  • Minimum 15 years in project controls with strong cost management and field ops experience.
  • Familiarity with construction contracts and pay applications processes.
  • Experience with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS).

Responsibilities

  • Lead setup, monitoring, and forecasting of project cost and progress metrics.
  • Manage all cost control elements, including budget development, scope changes, and expenditure/forecast reporting.
  • Maintain accurate data in cost control systems and tools.
  • Analyze revenue and cost performance and recommend corrective actions to project managers.
  • Review contractor pay applications for compliance with contracts.
  • Track and report construction progress using Earned Value Management (EVM).
  • Coordinate with contractors to collect and upload weekly progress data into project systems.

Your Impact

We are seeking an experienced Sr Project Controls Professional to support an ongoing site‑based assignment in Spartanburg, SC, Baton Rouge, LA, or Corpus Christi, TX, and future projects also requiring on‑site presence across the U.S. This senior‑level role is ideal for a detail‑oriented and collaborative professional with a strong background in cost control and construction progress tracking.

You will work as part of a dedicated project controls team, collaborating closely with construction teams and vendors to ensure accurate cost tracking, forecasting, and reporting throughout the project lifecycle.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead the setup, monitoring, and forecasting of project cost and progress metrics.
  • Manage all cost control elements, including

    • Scope change tracking
    • Expenditure and forecast reporting
  • Maintain accurate data in cost control systems and tools.
  • Analyze revenue and cost performance and recommend corrective actions to project and construction managers.
  • Review and approve contractor pay applications, ensuring compliance with contractual terms.
  • Track and report on construction physical progress using Earned Value Management (EVM).
  • Coordinate with contractors to collect and upload weekly progress data into project systems.
Here’s What You’ll Need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, or a related field — or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in project controls, with a strong focus on cost management and field operations.
  • Familiarity with construction contracts and pay application processes.
  • Experience with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS).
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with project controls teams, construction teams, and vendors.
  • Willingness and ability to travel for on‑site assignments.

The base salary range for this position is $123,600.00 to $170,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
