Job description

At WHOOP, we're on a mission to unlock human performance. WHOOP empowers members to perform at a higher level through a deeper understanding of their bodies and daily lives.

As a Sr. Program Specialist — Risk & Compliance Operations, you will ensure Membership Services is operationally ready to meet legal and regulatory requirements in every member interaction — reinforcing the trust that empowers every member to perform every day. Sitting within the Membership Services Program Management team, you will translate evolving standards — from data privacy to global health regulations — into scalable workflows, systems, and tools that enable compliant, high‑quality support for new products and features.

Responsibilities
  • Operationalize compliance by translating legal, regulatory, and data privacy guidance into SOPs, tooling requirements, and decision trees tailored to Membership Services.
  • Partner upstream with Product, Health, Legal, and Engineering teams to flag risks early and embed operational readiness into the launch of new features, channels, or markets.
  • Lead compliance readiness planning for Membership Services and act as the MS point of contact for audits, change reviews, and partner requirements tied to risk and data handling.
  • Design and maintain scalable compliance frameworks that are embedded directly into MS workflows, enabling our representatives to resolve issues compliantly without escalation.
  • Monitor and manage operational risks, tracking incidents and surfacing insights that guide proactive mitigation strategies across the organization.
  • Coordinate cross‑functional plans to close readiness gaps, implement policy changes, and respond to compliance‑related escalations.
  • Maintain a pulse on shifting regulatory landscapes and continuously evolve our policies and systems to stay ahead of compliance needs.
Qualifications
  • Proven (3+ years) experience in program or project management, with increasing scope and ownership across cross‑functional initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience operationalizing risk, compliance, or regulatory requirements (ideally in health, data privacy, consumer protection, or support operations environments).
  • Proven ability to translate legal, regulatory, or technical requirements into scalable operational processes, SOPs, tooling requirements, and decision frameworks.
  • Track record of leading complex, cross‑functional programs with measurable business impact.
  • Strong risk management and incident management capabilities, including identifying gaps, driving mitigation plans, and influencing stakeholders.
  • Experience partnering with Legal, Product, Engineering, or Privacy teams in highly regulated or data‑sensitive environments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to tailor messaging for operational, technical, and executive audiences.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize data into actionable insights and executive‑ready narratives.
  • Comfortable operating in fast‑paced, ambiguous environments while maintaining high standards of accuracy and quality.
  • Proficiency in support and operational systems (i.e., Salesforce, Zendesk, or similar CRM/workflow platforms).
  • Strategic thinker with strong execution discipline and attention to detail.
  • Strong commitment to embracing and leveraging AI tools in day‑to‑day tasks, ensuring AI‑assisted work aligns with the same high‑quality standards as personal contributions.
  • Alignment with WHOOP’s mission and passion for performance and wellness.
