Job summary

UPMC Mercy is seeking a Full-Time Registered Nurse for the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). The RN will care for complex patients recovering from surgical and procedural interventions, collaborating with anesthesia, surgical, and procedural teams.

Experience in Critical Care or Emergency Department settings is preferred, and a BSN is desirable though not required. The role offers a supportive, interdisciplinary environment and opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of Critical Care or Emergency Department experience is required.
  • BSN preferred but not required.
  • Strong collaboration with anesthesia, surgical and procedural teams.

Responsibilities

  • Identify opportunities to improve clinical quality and patient care.
  • Serve as clinical leader and mentor within PACU.
  • Lead initiatives to improve patient outcomes and unit performance.
  • Apply advanced assessment and decision-making within post-anesthesia care.
  • Precept students, graduates, and new hires.

Full-Time Registered Nurse – PACU | UPMC Mercy
Are you an experienced RN looking to care for complex patients in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment? UPMC Mercy is seeking a Full-Time Registered Nurse to join our Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) team. As a PACU nurse, you'll play a critical role in helping patients safely recover following surgical and procedural interventions while collaborating closely with anesthesia, surgical, and procedural teams.
This position offers the opportunity to care for a diverse patient population recovering from the OR, Neuro IR, IR, Endoscopy, Cath Lab, and Emergency Department. We welcome experienced RNs with at least one year of Critical Care or Emergency Department experience. A BSN is preferred, but not required.
