Job summary

Novolex in Lake Forest, IL is seeking a Senior Production Planner to lead master and supply planning for designated production lines. You will translate supply plans into actionable plant schedules and drive weekly S&OE discussions, partnering with sites to optimize capacity and inventory.

Preference for Lake Forest, IL; remote work possible for the right candidate. Requires ERP, MRP, and Advanced Planning Software experience with strong analytical abilities and stakeholder communication.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree required.
• APICS or IBF certification preferred.
• ERP experience required.
• MRP experience preferred.
• Experience with Advanced Planning Software tools; Blue Yonder preferred.
• Analytical capability with Advanced Excel and Databases.
• Ability to translate data into information and conclusions.
• Strong judgement and ability to communicate with stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Work with multiple production sites to understand capacity and constraints.
• Manage multi-step, multi-facility production to achieve target inventory.
• Drive continuous improvements to the S&OE process.
• Be responsible for a product category/line across multiple units.
• Review production plans with Manufacturing stakeholders and balance loading.
• Plan timelines for promotions from design to production completion.
• Coordinate cross-functional response to service or material issues.
• Develop execution plans for outages and new products.
• Perform ERP data clean-up and integrity tasks.
• Serve as primary contact between plants and customer service/sales.
• Participate in meetings on capacity, capabilities, and investments.

Job Description

This is a hybrid position.

Job Summary

The Senior Production Planner is the focal point for both Master Planning and Supply Planning for their production line. This person is responsible for translating supply plans for their products and customers into actionable schedules for the plants to execute on. The Senior Production Planner will lead the day-to-day decision making for their product line(s), as well as looking further out to identify capacity opportunities or concerns. This highly impactful and visible role will communicate and present with stakeholders and leaders across the organization. This person will be a key owner of the weekly S&OE (Sales & Operations Execution) process.

Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities

• Work with multiple production sites to understand production capability, capacity and other considerations
• Manage multi-step, multi-facility production process to achieve target inventory levels
• Drive continuous improvements to the S&OE process
• Be responsible for a product category/line across multiple business units
• Meet with Manufacturing stakeholders to review production plans, address constraints, and balance sourcing and loading between sites
• Plan timelines for Promotional needs for end to end process from graphic approval to production completion
• Coordinate the cross-functional response when significant service or raw material issues occur
• Develop execution plans for significant planned outages, new products, inventory builds, and other events
• Perform data clean-up in the ERP system
• Primary contact between the plants and customer service/sales
• On a regular basis participate in meetings regarding capacity and capability of assets in scope and investment needs

Requirements

• Relevant BA/BS degree
• APICS or IBF certification preferred
• ERP experience required
• MRP experience and understanding preferred
• Experience with Advanced Planning Software tools; experience with Blue Yonder preferred
