Job summary

Sammons Financial Group is seeking a Senior Product Owner for Illustrations to lead and deliver Life Insurance Illustration capabilities, including POS and Inforce Illustration software. You will translate strategy into actionable priorities while partnering with tech, ops, sales, and product teams.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in product ownership within Agile environments, with experience in Life Insurance Illustration tools and scaled Agile practices, and a design-to-market mindset.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in a product ownership role within an Agile software development environment.
• Bachelor degree preferred in Information Systems/Business Admin or related field.
• Financial services knowledge preferred.
• Experience translating business needs into strategy and actionable tasks for delivery.

We’re hiring a Senior Product Owner - Illustrations!

We’re looking for a Senior Product Owner to help lead the capabilities and processes behind our Life Insurance Illustration experience, including innovative Point of Sale (POS) and Inforce Illustration software.

• Make case design and quoting easier across multiple platforms
• Support the launch of multiple life insurance products each year
• Translate our Life Division vision into clear priorities and measurable outcomes
• Partner across technology, operations, sales, and product teams
• Refine features, write stories, test solutions, troubleshoot issues, and help bring functionality all the way to market
• Build a team culture where collaboration, ideas, and every voice matter

We’re looking for someone with 5+ years of product ownership experience who can connect strategy to execution and is comfortable working closely with technical teams.

And if you have experience with Life Insurance Illustration software, WELiS, WinFlex, Ensight, financial services, or Scaled Agile environments - even better.

This is a role where you can have a real impact on how we design, illustrate, quote, and launch life insurance products.

What We\'re Looking For

• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Business Administration or related degree Preferred
• Minimum 5 years' experience in a product ownership role within an Agile software development environment with a proven track record of delivering products that meet market needs Preferred
• Financial services experience/knowledge of the business Preferred
• Experience working closely with technical teams utilizing understanding of technical requirements and constraints Required
• Experience in translating business needs into strategy and actionable tasks to deliver expected outcomes Required
• Experience in scaled agile framework environments Preferred
• Demonstrated knowledge of Agile and Scrum methodologies with the ability to apply principles in business-focused product development
• Knowledge of basic technical principles relevant to the product domain (e.g., web technologies, software development lifecycle, user experience (UX)/user interface (UI) design considerations)
• Organizational skills with ability to manage competing priorities and navigate complex initiative landscapes
• Effective communication skills with capability of negotiating with stakeholders and ability to convey complex product requirements to technical and non-technical audiences
• Ability to influence without direct authority
• Strong leadership and collaboration skills with a track record of leading cross-functional teams to success
• Commitment to continuous learning and improvement with a willingness to stay up to date on industry trends and emerging technologies
• Product Owner certification Preferred

Salary Range Information

USD $76,158.00 - USD $126,930.00 /Yr. Range includes data points from multiple labor markets. Specific range is dependent on the labor market where the incumbent will be hired to perform the position. Starting salary is dependent on candidate qualifications and experience. For a narrower salary range specific to your labor market, please inquire.
