Job description

Description Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for a Senior Product Manager to join our Serverless Compute team based in Seattle, WA. Our team owns the products that make it radically easier for builders to build scalable, reliable, and intelligent cloud applications without managing infrastructure.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for a Senior Product Manager to join our Serverless Compute team based in Seattle, WA. Our team owns the products that make it radically easier for builders to build scalable, reliable, and intelligent cloud applications without managing infrastructure. Our portfolio includes some of the most widely adopted services in cloud computing: AWS Lambda, AWS Step Functions, Amazon EventBridge, and AWS Elastic Beanstalk. Together, these services power millions of customer workloads, from event-driven architectures and workflow orchestration to full application deployment. Our latest innovations are defining how customers build complex, multi-step, AI-native applications on AWS, including durable execution for AI agents and next-generation compute primitives.

We deliver bar-raising developer experiences that remove the need to become an expert in distributed systems. If you are excited by cloud computing, want to help lead from the innovative edge, and have a deep-rooted passion for the evolution of computing and application development, then we want to talk to you.

Role

The breadth of this role is what makes it unique. Depending on your interests and strengths, you could find yourself working on:

  • Event-driven architectures that connect and integrate cloud-native systems at scale
  • Workflow orchestration and durable execution for AI agents and distributed applications
  • Developer and agent experiences that make building, deploying, and governing serverless applications effortless at any scale
  • New product categories
  • The foundational compute technologies behind our services that power millions of customer workloads from sub-second functions to long-running managed instances

What does it take to succeed in this role? Excitement in finding new ways to help a developer do things more efficiently or faster. A deep empathy for developer challenges, balanced with a strategic understanding of business objectives and a creative and inventive mindset to help define what we build. Demonstrated experience leading developer-facing efforts across compute, eventing, workflows, or application development, and a strong technical background with familiarity with large-scale systems. Exceptional communication skills to manage the large degree of external interaction with customers and partners the role requires.

Key job responsibilities

  • Engage directly with customers to understand their needs and learn what we can build to enable and delight them
  • Author documents relating to product life cycle including product roadmap, business requirements, and functional specifications
  • Prototype new features and experiences
  • Drive product development across teams (primarily Engineering, Operations, Product Management, Business Development, and Marketing) through business requirements, design, implementation, and deployment
  • Work collaboratively with Engineering as an advocate for the needs of our customers
  • Evaluate industry innovations and identify partnership and collaboration opportunities

About The Team

We are a core part of the AWS Serverless Compute organization with team members in Seattle, Dublin, and Vancouver. Together, we work as one team spanning Lambda, Step Functions, EventBridge, and Elastic Beanstalk. Our shared mission is to make it radically easier for developers to build scalable, reliable, and intelligent cloud applications without managing infrastructure.

Our team is dedicated to supporting new members. We have a broad mix of experience levels and tenures, and we are building an environment that celebrates knowledge sharing and mentorship. Our senior members enjoy one-on-one mentoring and thorough, but kind, document reviews. We care about your career growth and strive to assign projects based on what will help each team member develop into a better-rounded professional and enable them to take on more complex tasks in the future.

We are continuously raising our performance bar as we strive to become Earth's Best Employer. That is why you will find endless knowledge-sharing, mentorship, and other career-advancing resources here to help you develop into a better-rounded professional.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of working as a Technical Product Manager experience
  • 3+ years of technical (software development, network development, IT, other related) experience
  • Experience in taking a product from conception & definition phase through engineering design and taking it to market
  • Experience delivering large-scale SaaS, PaaS or LaaS products where you are responsible for the full product lifecycle, from concept through GTM (go to market)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
  • Experience working within teams delivering software products and features using agile methodologies
