Job summary

WEG Electric Corp. is seeking a Senior Product Manager for Industrial Motors to lead MV product lines in the US market. You will guide product lifecycle, develop OEM solutions, and collaborate with sales, engineering, and marketing to meet customer needs.

Responsibilities include managing the LV/MV motors product team, driving growth, and delivering technical documentation, tools, and training for sales and customers. 50% travel may be required in the US market.

Qualifications

• Technical knowledge of NEMA AC Industrial electric motor products.
• Experience in product marketing and new product introduction (NPI).
• Strong communication skills to interact with customers, sales reps, and engineering teams.
• Understanding of USA regional market requirements for assigned products and ability to influence design.
• Experience in development of tools to improve sales and quoting processes.
• Willingness to travel up to 50%.

Responsibilities

• Directly manages members of the LV Industrial Motors product management team.
• Plan work priorities, coach staff, and support hiring decisions.
• Drive growth by guiding MV Industrial motors portfolio through the product lifecycle and launches in the US market.
• Develop OEM-dedicated product solutions based on industry knowledge.
• Gather US market requirements for product roadmaps and pass to development teams.
• Create benefits-based sales training and support field sales processes.
• Interface with Customer Service, Marketing, Technical Support, Distributors, OEMs and End Users.
• Maintain product roadmaps with HQ/Product Development; coordinate promotions and materials.
• Develop and maintain sales tools, competitor comparisons, configurators, and quotes.
• Create and maintain training materials for sales, support, and customers.
• Coordinate with logistics and manufacturing to manage inventory levels.
• Improve technical support documentation and accessibility.

WEG Electric Corp. has a great opportunity for a Sr. Product Manager - Industrial Motors to join our team. This role leads and supervises a team of professionals responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating activities related to MV WMO Industrial Motors. Oversees sales promotion and product-line development to support market growth and ensure organizational goals are achieved, either directly or through subordinate staff. Provides leadership and direction to product sales, marketing, engineering, and production teams in areas including product development, inventory control, customer relations, and technical documentation. Guides the development of customized products to meet client-specific application needs and local market requirements.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Directly manages members of the LV Industrial Motors product management team.
• Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable employment
• Responsibilities include planning work, setting priorities, coaching, performance management, employee development, and supporting hiring decisions.
• Drive growth results by guiding the MV Industrial motors portfolio of products (frame range 5000 – 7000) through the standard Product Lifecycle Management process as well as launch new products to the US market.
• Develop OEM dedicated product solutions utilizing industry and application knowledge
• Collect and deliver product requirements of the US market for relevant products to product development colleagues for road map innovations.
• Assist to develop “benefits based” sales training.
• Assist field sales teams in technical sales processes and technical customer facing activities
• Interface with other groups as necessary including Customer Service, Marketing, Technical Support, Distribution Partners, OEMs, End User, and other WEG Business Units
• Maintain and communicate a product road map for assigned products in conjunction with Product Development teams at HQ.
• Work with WEG Motors headquarters and local marketing teams to develop and launch product related promotional materials which include catalogs, literature, etc.
• Develop and maintain sales tools such as competitor comparisons, product configurators, application notes, quoting tools, promotional videos, seminars, webinars, corporate website and others.
• Develop and maintain materials and programs for training sales teams, product support teams and customers.
• Work with WEG’s logistics, manufacturing to establish and maintain proper inventory levels for related products
• Work with the Technical Support group to continuously improve the efficiency of technical support and maintain all technical data and documents in an easy to access location.
• Manage pricing and part numbers for assigned product.
• Represent WEG at pertinent industry related entities and technical professional organizations such as IEEE / PCIC / API
• Up to 50% travel

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a four-year college or university.

Knowledge / training:

• Technical experience and knowledge of above NEMA AC Industrial electric motor products required.
• Demonstrates breadth and depth of knowledge of customer needs and market trends with respect to product category.
• Competitive product knowledge
• Thorough technical knowledge of product design, key features, competitive comparison, applications, target markets, and strengths and weaknesses of assigned product compared to major competitors.
• Experience in product marketing, project management and new product introduction (NPI) methodology
• Experience in development of tools to bring efficiency to sales and quoting processes
• Must have strong communications skills to effectively communicate with customers, sales reps, application engineers, and other inside support staff.
• Must have a thorough understanding of USA regional market requirements for assigned products and must drive WEG Motors Headquarters to include these requirements in the design of existing or future products.
• Experience in authoring papers in at API and participating member of industry specifications task groups
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint as well as Outlook.
