Job summary

Teledyne FLIR Defense seeks a technical product leader to define strategy for radiation detection products and guide development worldwide. You will collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, sales, and customers to deliver high-impact solutions that meet evolving market needs.

Travel up to 25–50% and eligibility for SECRET clearance required; 5+ years in radiation sensing product development and at least 3+ years launching products; Bachelor's in Science or Engineering; advanced degree a plus.

Qualifications

  • Strong product leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Knowledge of radiation detection, radiation physics, or closely related technologies.
  • Experience defining product requirements and managing product development programs.
  • 5+ years of product development, product marketing, or related experience within radiation sensing technologies.
  • 3+ years of product launch experience.
  • CBRNE, nuclear safety, or closely related market experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Advantage: Advanced degree and experience with technical research related to CBRNe sensors.

Responsibilities

  • Define product strategy, positioning, and competitive differentiation for radiation detection products.
  • Build and maintain the product roadmap aligned with business objectives.
  • Gather and prioritize customer, market, and regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with engineering and manufacturing teams to scope and guide product development.
  • Lead product decisions through phase-gate development processes.
  • Develop pricing strategies that support revenue and profitability goals.
  • Support validation testing, third-party evaluations, and product qualification efforts.
  • Train sales teams, support key customer engagements, and assist with win strategies.
  • Manage product lifecycle, upgrades, and obsolescence planning.
  • Present product, market, and roadmap updates to senior leadership.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

This role requires up to 25% to 50% travel and candidates must have or be able to obtain a SECRET level clearance.
