Job description

Job ID: 10452405 | Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc.

We are looking for a Senior Principal Tech Lead Manager for AWS Transform, a frontier agent for migration and modernization. You will help architect and drive the technical evolution of autonomous AI agent systems that modernize mission‑critical enterprise infrastructure and very large codebases. We help our customers transition to a future of continuous modernization and help them unlock the full potential of GenAI through the first‑of‑its‑kind multi‑agent, multi‑user, multi‑domain system that orchestrates workflows across multiple teams within an enterprise.

You will lead and grow a nimble team of AI scientists, fostering a culture of rapid experimentation and research excellence while keeping the team tightly aligned to product impact. You will set the technical vision for building state‑of‑the‑art learning systems with knowledge graphs, reasoning, and validation capabilities that operate beyond foundational model boundaries—and translate that vision into concrete research and engineering milestones for your team.

As a technical leader influencing a large engineering organization, you’ll balance innovation with operational excellence, mentoring senior scientists and creating an environment where a small, high‑caliber group can move fast and punch above its weight. This role is central to disrupting the enterprise modernization market and is a unique opportunity to combine expertise in distributed systems with bleeding‑edge innovation in agentic systems.

Basic Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications
  • 15+ years of relevant, broad research experience after PhD degree or equivalent
  • First author publications at Tier‑1 ML conferences such as NeurIPS, ICLR, ICML, CVPR
