Job summary

Northern Trust is seeking a senior software engineer to lead platform development for an AI Code Scanner and related systems in a regulated enterprise setting. The role covers front-end, back-end, and AI integration with emphasis on secure, scalable architectures.

Ideal candidates have extensive experience with React, Python, REST APIs, and large language model integrations, and will mentor junior engineers while guiding platform modernization efforts.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• 5+ years in lead/principal/senior engineering role.
• Experience supporting enterprise-scale applications in regulated environments.

Responsibilities

• Platform Ownership: lead technical development for the AI Code Scanner platform, drive modernization and scalability, mentor juniors.
• Front-End Development: enhance UX, dashboards, workflow management, and secure auth patterns.
• Backend & AI Engineering: maintain orchestration and scanning services, expand LLM-based security capabilities, improve automated vulnerability workflows.

• Serve as a lead technical developer for the AI Code Scanner platform.

Salary Range:

$164,600 - 288,000 USD

Salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension), health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, spending accounts and disability), paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life & accident insurance, and other voluntary and well-being benefits. Northern Trust also provides a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.
