Northrop Grumman Mission Systems seeks a Sr. Principal Software Configuration Analyst to design, implement, and maintain software configuration management with a primary focus on IBM Rational ClearCase.
You will ensure baselines, builds, and releases are controlled, repeatable, and auditable across multiple development teams. The role requires ClearCase expertise, scripting in Python/Perl/Shell, and knowledge of software lifecycles (waterfall, V‑model, or agile).

The new team member will focus on Configuration Management and will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining software configuration management (SCM) processes and tools, with a primary focus on IBM Rational ClearCase. This role ensures that software baselines, builds, and releases are controlled, repeatable, and auditable, supporting multiple development teams working on complex, critical systems. The ideal candidate has strong ClearCase expertise, understands modern software development practices, and can collaborate closely with developers, QA, and IT to improve reliability and efficiency of the development pipeline. Ensure software standards for configuration management are met. The new team member may design, develop, document, test and debug software applications and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions, as time allows while balancing other responsibilities. Implement solutions in multiple components of the system, including storage, OS, network, application, database, and many more.

Primary Level Salary Range: $129,300.00 - $193,900.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
