Job summary

Qorvo, Inc. is seeking a Sr Principal RFIC Design Engineer in Apopka, FL to lead the design and development of RF LNAs and switches for cellular applications.

You will work with module customers and layout teams to optimize the RF chain and ensure successful integration into multi-chip modules. The role requires a strong RF design background, extensive experience with HFSS, Cadence and ADS, and a proven track record in RF measurements and first-pass design success.

Qualifications

• MSEE or PhD in an RF related field.
• More than 10 years of experience in LNA and/or RFIC designs.
• Experience with HFSS, Cadence, and ADS.
• Strong background in RF measurements and characterization.
• Ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• The design and development of RF LNA and switches for cellular applications, potentially using SOI and BiCMOS technologies.
• Support standalone LNA and switch modules and their integration into a multi-chip module (MCM).
• Work with internal module customers with die deliverables and optimize the RF chain.
• Collaborate with layout designers to apply best layout practices.
• Design analog blocks like Bandgap, LDO, Bias circuits as needed.
• Create test laminates to measure taped out hardware and troubleshoot measurements with lab staff.
• Conduct peer reviews of designs and communicate results.
• Produce regular program updates and report progress clearly.
• Meet aggressive schedules and deliverables.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• The design and development of RF LNA and switches for cellular applications, potentially using SOI and BiCMOS technologies
• Support standalone LNA and switch modules and theirintegration into a multi-chip module (MCM)
• Working with the internal module customers with die deliverables and optimizing the RF chain
• Working with layout designers to use best practices for layout
• Designing and using analog blocks like Bandgap, LDO, Bias circuits etc from time to time
• Creating test laminates to measurethe taped out hardware and working with Lab technicians to troubleshoot measurements issues and perform sim vs meas correlation
• Conducting peer reviews of their designs, including expected and/or actual results
• Writing regular program updates and communicate progress and issues in a clear and consise manner.
• Be able to execute to an aggressive schedule

QUALIFICATIONS:

• MSEE or PhD in an RF related field
• >10 years of experience in LNA and/or other RFIC designs
• Extensive experience designing with HFSS, Cadence, and ADS
• Strong background with RF measurements and characterization
• Experience in standard RF design techniques and best practices
• Working knowledge of device physics for IC design, especially tradeoffs for LNA and switch configuration
• Strong background in various linear and nonlinear simulation techniques and simulators
• Capable of refining their simulation results to achieve excellent predictability with the goal of first pass success
• Be able to work independently
• Knowledge of RF PA design and other large signal circuit design is considered a plus
• Candidates with successful release of production LNA and switches for mobile applications would be highly considered
