Job summary

Northrop Grumman seeks a Sr. Network Engineer to support information system lifecycle activities. This on-site role is based at San Diego, Redondo Beach, or Palmdale, CA, with 10% travel and a Secret clearance requirement.

The ideal candidate has advanced networking knowledge, Security+ or higher, and experience with design, protocols, and Cisco devices. Northrop Grumman offers competitive benefits and a 9/80 schedule.

Qualifications

  • The ad requires a Master’s Degree with 6 years of relevant experience; OR a Bachelor's Degree with 8 years of relevant experience; OR an Associate’s Degree with 10 years of relevant experience; OR a High School Diploma with 12 years of relevant experience.
  • Must have a current US Government Secret clearance with ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance
  • Candidates must be able to obtain access to Special Programs as a condition of employment
  • Must have a Security+ certification or greater
  • Experience with network design, architecture, specifications, and equipment selection
  • Understanding and implementation of IPv4 and IPv6 network design, including IP subnetting and routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP)
  • Understanding and implementation of network device configuration and troubleshooting (Cisco IOS/IOS-XE/FirePower/PAN-OS)

The Northrop Grumman CIDO Classified Solutions team is seeking a Sr. Network Engineer to support information system lifecycle activities. The selected candidate will be required to work on-site, full-time at either our San Diego, Redondo Beach, or Palmdale, CA locations.

Basic Qualifications
  • Master's Degree with 6 years of relevant experience; OR a Bachelor's Degree with 8 years of relevant experience; OR an Associate's Degree with 10 years of relevant experience; OR a High School Diploma (or equivalent) with 12 years of relevant experience is required
  • Must have a current US Government Secret with the ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Top Secret Clearance
  • Candidates must have the ability to obtain, and maintain, access to Special Programs as a condition of continued employment
  • Must have a Security+ certification or greater
  • Experience with network design, architecture, specifications, and equipment selection
  • Understanding and implementation of IPv4 and IPv6 network design, including IP subnetting and protocols including BGP, OSPF and EIGRP
  • Understanding and implementation of network device configuration and troubleshooting (ideally, Cisco IOS/IOS-XE/Fire Power/PANOS)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree Network Engineering
  • Active Top Secret, SCI, SAP/SAR access, or Polygraph
  • Professional certification specific to the networking industry like a CCNP Service Provider/CCIE or equivalent.
  • Familiar with network management applications, like Splunk, Cisco ISE, Cisco SDWAN, Palo Alto Panorama, SolarWinds, and Netbox. Understanding of cloud and automation tools such as (NSXT, SDWAN, SDA, Ansible)
  • Exposure to the Risk Management Framework, associated security controls, and STIGs.
  • Familiar with Windows, Linux, and VMWare configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with HAIPE/TACLANE and other military COMSEC/CRYPTO equipment and procedures.
  • Experience with complex multi-mesh hybrid HAIPE topologies managed via orchestration tools such as GemOne.
  • Experience with Cisco Unified Communications / VoIP and VTC

Primary Level Salary Range: $129,300.00 - $193,900.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
