Job summary

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems in Salt Lake City, UT, is seeking a Senior Principal Manufacturing Operations Engineer to lead product protection programs and act as the primary technical contact for FOD/FOE, ESD, and 6S initiatives. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in STEM discipline with 8 years or a Master's degree in STEM with 6 years of experience.

• Knowledge or experience working in a facility with FOD Critical protocol.
• Knowledge and/or experience of 6S lean methodology principles.
• Knowledge and experience with AS9100 certification requirements.
• Cross-functional project management experience.
• US Citizenship is required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret clearance.

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS)

is looking for a Senior Principal Manufacturing Operations Engineer to join our team as the prime technical contact and project lead for product protection programs (Foreign Object Detection and Prevention, Electro-Static Discharge and Protection, and 6S) in Salt Lake City, Utah.

The role reports to the Director of Manufacturing Operations and is responsible for developing, researching, and leading special projects and product protection programs for the Salt Lake City Manufacturing team. The position is responsible for the management and continuous improvement of the site programs for FOD/FOE, ESD, and 6S lean methodology. The position represents manufacturing as a primary technical contact for product protection programs and interacts with senior leadership, suppliers, and cross-functional stakeholders.

• US Citizenship is required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge and experience with circuit card manufacturing, fiber optics, and inertial instruments.
• Product protection experience with such variables as moisture, corrosive chemicals, temperature variations, light, heat, rough handling, and tampering.

Primary Level Salary Range: $111,700.00 - $167,500.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
