Job summary

GlobalFoundries is seeking a highly experienced Test Development and Automation Engineer to drive ATE automation supporting Analog/Digital test strategies across product lines. You will define and lead automation tools, develop reusable test libraries, and push AI-driven test solutions to improve quality and cost of test.

Required are 20+ years in product/test roles with 10+ years in TPG automation, strong coding skills (C#/C++, Python, Java), and hands-on experience with ATE platforms.

Qualifications

• Minimum 20+ years of experience in Product/Test or equivalent combined with a strong track record in test automation.
• At least 10+ years of experience with Test Program Generation (TPG) automation across multiple ATE platforms.
• Hands-on experience with agentic AI systems and LLM-based agents for tool-use and multi-agent workflows.
• Experience working with ATE platforms and low-level automation code development.

Responsibilities

• Define and develop state-of-the-art ATE test solution automation for new product development engineers.
• Create Test Method Libraries for standardization and re-use across products and ATE platforms.
• Develop AI-driven test automation to reduce manual workflows and improve coverage and cost-of-test.

• Interface with ATE vendors, BU PE and Design teams to define automation requirements and checklists.

This position offers a great opportunity to work on industry leading semiconductor devices, targeted for broad applications in Automotive and Industrial markets. In this role, you'll be a member of Test Technology and Data Analytics Development team, tasked with driving ATE test automation supporting Analog/Digital test strategies across various product lines. Test Development and Automation engineer will define, lead, and drive ATE automated test program generation tool, with strong emphasis on using standard test methodologies across multiple ATE platforms and products. Knowledge and experience with software development using of C++ / C# / Python / JAVA is necessary. Candidate should know ATE platform architecture and programming language to develop low level ATE code for Analog / Mix Signal blocks. End goal is to design and productize deep Analog and Mix Signal test automated solutions, enabling organization benchmarks in quality, efficient code, and test-cost goals.

Primary responsibilities will include:

• Define and develop state-of-the-art ATE test solution(s) automation, to be used by new product development engineers.
• Define and develop Test Method Libraries to enabling re-use, standardization, and sameness across products and ATE platforms.
• Reduce / eliminate manual test-engineering workflows by developing and deploying AI agentic test automation solutions.
• Develop Test Program Automation that can handle differentiated test flows and test insertions designed for multiple different market segments (Auto, Commercial, Industrial), and driven for best-in-class coverage and cost-of-test.
• Automation should go beyond test program generation and across the layers between testers and peripherals (tester / peripheral communications, data-transfers, etc.).
• Must be able to update / modify existing code to improvise current solutions.
• Support new product development teams for all ATE automation software related issues.
• Good understanding on Automated Test Equipment (ATE) system architecture (V93K, ETS platform, T2K, IFlex etc.) and able to work with vendor to develop low level automation code.
• Continuous upkeep and maintenance of test program generation utilities and standard test method libraries.
• Institute program audit and checks and identify / flag opportunities for quality and test escapes, as well as provide best practice solutions for ATE HW / SW implementation.
• Act as an interface between ATE vendor, BU PE and Design team to define test automation requirements and checklists.

Requirements:

• BSEE/BSCS/BSCE with minimum >20 yrs of experience working Product / Test (or MSEE with at least 5yrs).
• Direct experience of at least 10yrs+ working TPG automation across multiple ATE platforms.
• Knowledge and hands-on experience with agentic AI systems - LLM based agents, tool-use, multi-agent workflows.
• Experience working with ATE platforms.
• Proficient in multiple ATE software coding languages including but not limited to C#/C++, Python, Java.
• Strong track record of driving ATE automation for test code generation and re-use.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, working with cross-functional teams.

Expected Salary Range$171,000.00 - $296,000.00The exact Salary will be determined based on qualifications, experience and location.
