Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems in Melbourne, FL invites a Sr. Principal Engineer Planning Analyst to join the DMSMS team, coordinating with procurement, engineering and program management.

You will lead BCA analyses, develop entry and exit criteria and drive data-driven solutions to obsolescence issues. The role requires a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with extensive planning experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to obtain/maintain US government security clearances;

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems (NGAS) has an opening for a Sr. Principal Engineer Planning Analyst to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Melbourne, Florida.

This position will be supporting the Product Support organization as an individual contributor on the Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS) team.

The candidate must have excellent inter-personal, written and verbal communication skills as they work with teams of engineers, logisticians, buyers, etc. in pursuing recommendations for resolution of DMSMS issues. Candidate will help coordinate activities to ensure solutions are in place to minimize or prevent impacts to current contracts. Key aspects of the position include working effectively with Procurement/ Subcontracts, Integrated Product Teams, functional organizations, external customers and Program Management to identify, analyze, address, and resolve DMSMS issues.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

• Serve as a lead for the DMSMS Business Case Analysis (BCA) process while integrating with cross-discipline teams, including supply chain and procurement, business management, engineering, functional organizations, external customers and program management
• Interface with DMSMS team and tool suite, as well as other stakeholders as necessary, to adjudicate obsolescence issues for BCA candidacy. Perform analysis of supplier and industry data to provide recommended, risk-based path forward.
• Creation and management of entry and exit criteria artifacts for each development phase of a BCA, to include resolution option definition, execution schedules, cost estimates, and roadmaps
• Collect and provide data to inform program leadership of BCA status during technical interchange meetings, working groups, program deliverables and other briefings as required
• Maintain BCA database and other artifacts with updated statuses, tasking and other pertinent information on a consistent cadence
• Interpret Bills of Material or parts lists.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree and at least 8 years of previous experience working in a Project Planning or Technical position OR Master’s Degree with 6 years of experience. In lieu of formal degree, will consider 12 years of experience.
• Proficiency using Microsoft Office products (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Must hold an Active US Government Secret clearance (with a background investigation within the past 5 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance, within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with database management
• Proficiency with JIRA and Confluence
• Proficiency with Project Management processes and procedures
• Knowledge of data analytics and visualization techniques
• Complete understanding of DMSMS concepts and processes

Primary Level Salary Range: $111,700.00 - $167,500.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
