Job summary

Scorpion Therapeutics is seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to support operating areas and capital projects focused on Instrumentation and Control Hardware. You will lead site operation support, commissioning & qualification, and drive automation engineering efforts across processes.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in a highly regulated pharmaceutical environment, hands-on DeltaV DCS and Rockwell AB PLC experience, and strong GMP/21 CFR Part 11 knowledge; US work authorization is

Qualifications

  • BS in Engineering or related field with automation experience.
  • 8+ years in pharmaceutical or highly regulated environment.
  • Experience with DeltaV DCS, Rockwell AB PLC, FactoryTalk View, DeltaV/Rockwell I/O.
  • Knowledge of GMP, regulatory requirements and computer system validation.
  • US full-time work authorization.

Responsibilities

  • Provide automation support for operating areas and capital projects (Instrumentation and Control).
  • Lead site operation support, capital project execution, and commissioning & qualification.
  • Perform automation engineering design, development, and commissioning.
  • Develop and implement Automation Engineering Project Plans; define maintenance strategies.
  • Lead/oversee site area leads and system integrators; resolve instrument/control challenges.
  • Develop/review functional requirements, design and test specs; lead design reviews and FATs.
  • Maintain validated state of control system hardware; support validation strategies and docs.
  • Implement/support electronic systems (e.g., plant historians) to capture production data.
  • Mentor engineers and ensure GMP/21 CFR Part 11 compliance.

Job description

Responsibilities:


  • Provide automation support for operating areas and/or capital projects (primary focus: Instrumentation and Control Hardware).

  • Lead site operation support, capital project execution, and commissioning & qualification.

  • Perform automation engineering (design/development/commissioning), including DeltaV DCS, tuning and troubleshooting of control loops.

  • Develop and implement the Automation Engineering Project Plan; define maintenance strategies for instruments and control hardware.

  • Lead/oversee Site Area leads and System Integrators; resolve complex instrument/control system challenges.

  • Develop/review functional requirements, design and test specifications; lead/participate in design reviews and FATs.

  • Maintain validated state of control system hardware; support validation strategies/documentation.

  • Implement/support electronic systems (e.g., plant historians) to capture production data.

  • Mentor engineers; collaborate across process control and functional disciplines; support GMP/21 CFR Part 11 compliance.


Basic requirements:


  • B.S. in Engineering or related field; Automation Engineering experience.

  • 8+ years in pharmaceutical/highly regulated environment.

  • Experience with DeltaV DCS, Rockwell Allen Bradley PLC, FactoryTalk View, DeltaV/Rockwell I/O; plus Veeva, PI, and/or BMS Warehouse Monitoring.

  • Knowledge of GMP, regulatory requirements, computer system validation; rotational on-call availability; US full-time work authorization.


Preferred:


  • Initiative/planning; hands-on control panel hardware & wiring; strong problem-solving/continuous improvement.

  • Influence without authority; good communication.


Comp/benefits (as stated):


  • Anticipated wage: $66,000–$171,600; company bonus eligibility; comprehensive benefits (e.g., 401(k), medical/dental/vision, life insurance, time off, well-being).
