Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Senior D365 F&O Functional Consultant (Finance) in the United States. The role requires extensive experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance, leading multi-stakeholder workshops, and delivering end-to-end finance transformations across G/L, AP, AR, assets, budgeting, cash management, and reporting.

You will engage with CXOs and finance leaders to align objectives with D365 Finance solutions, build roadmaps, and drive governance across the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of industry and consulting experience with ERP and Finance transformation programs.
• Deep functional expertise in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance.
• Proven experience conducting discovery workshops, assessments, and business process transformation initiatives.
• Strong consulting mindset with the ability to challenge, advise, and influence stakeholders.
• Experience working with CXOs, CFOs, and executive steering committees.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
• Knowledge of finance operations, controls, and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead discovery workshops, business assessments, fit-gap analyses, and solution envisioning sessions with client stakeholders.
• Engage with CXOs, Finance leaders, and senior business executives to understand strategic objectives and translate them into D365 Finance solutions.
• Gather, analyze, and document business requirements and design scalable D365 Finance solutions aligned with best practices.
• Provide functional leadership across Finance processes, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, Budgeting, Cash & Bank Management, Financial Reporting, and Period Close.
• Develop business cases, assessment reports, transformation roadmaps, and executive presentations.
• Collaborate with solution architects, technical teams, and project stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support pre-sales activities, solution demonstrations, estimations, and proposal development as needed.
• Strong understanding and demonstrable experience of applying localizations (taxation, legal, regulatory) for multi-country/entity rollouts

Location: United States
Grade: 6B / 7A
Experience: 15+ years of overall industry and consulting experience, with significant experience delivering Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (F&O) transformations for Finance module.

Key Responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in global D365 F&O implementations, rollouts, or transformation programs.
• Technical understanding of D365 F&O architecture, integrations, extensions, data migration, security, and reporting.
• Exposure to Microsoft Power Platform, Azure integrations, and Copilot capabilities.
• Relevant Microsoft certifications such as MB-310, MB-300, or MB-700.
• Functional knowledge across adjacent F&O areas such as Procurement, Supply Chain, Project Operations, or Manufacturing.

A trusted advisor who combines deep D365 Finance functional expertise with strong consulting capabilities, executive presence, and the ability to lead business transformation conversations with senior client stakeholders. Technical awareness of the D365 platform is highly desirable and will be considered a distinct advantage.
