General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) is seeking a senior-level Cloud and Identity Engineer to architect, deploy, and support modern multi-cloud environments with a primary focus on AWS. The role is based in Falls Church, VA, with hybrid options and travel.

You will act as an Okta/Identity SME, oversee certificate infrastructure, and develop CI/CD pipelines for IaC deployments, ensuring secure, compliant, and reliable cloud services across AWS, Azure, and GCP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field (BA/BS).
• 10+ years of related IT/Cloud experience.
• US Citizenship required; must obtain Top Secret clearance.
• Experience deploying and managing AWS multi-tenant environments with IaC (Terraform/Ansible).
• Okta identity federation implementation experience.

Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and support multi-cloud environments across AWS, Azure, and GCP.

• Oversee Emerge Labs certificate infrastructure and DNS.

About the Role

GDIT’s Emerge Labs is seeking a senior‑level Cloud and Identity Engineer to architect, deploy, and support modern multi‑cloud environments with a primary focus on AWS. This Cloud SME role blends technical engineering expertise with a strong customer‑support mission—ensuring that every cloud service, automation, and infrastructure component is fully delivered, functioning correctly, and meeting customer expectations. You will work onsite in Falls Church, VA, or remote with regular travel, and serve as a trusted technical partner to both internal teams and Emerge Labs internal customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and support multi‑cloud environments across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Acts as an Okta/Identity SME for the GDIT Emerge Labs
• Oversee Emerge Labs certificate infrastructure and DNS
• Deploy and manage AWS multi‑tenant account structures, including networking, identity, governance, and security controls.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for IaC deployments to ensure consistent, reliable, and repeatable delivery.
• Serve as a Tier 3 escalation point, providing timely resolution and clear communication to Emerge Labs customers.
• Ensure that cloud services and deployments are fully delivered, validated, documented, and functioning as expected.
• Work directly with customers to understand requirements, track progress, resolve issues, and confirm successful delivery.
• Partner with internal engineering, cybersecurity, and operations teams to maintain secure and compliant cloud environments.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED

• Education: Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science
• Experience: 10+ years of related experience
• Technical skills:
  • Proven experience deploying and managing AWS multi‑tenant environments using IaC such as Terraform and/or Ansible/YAML.
  • Proven experience with complex design and implementation of Okta/Identity federation solution (Okta workflow automation experience is a plus)
  • Hand-on experience with deploying Certificate Authority and managing DNS
  • Working knowledge with Microsoft AD server and Linux operating systems
  • Strong cloud networking background (Zscaler, routing, VPCs, security groups, Route53).

Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain an active Top Secret (TS) clearance.

Due to the need for a Top Secret Clearance - US Citizenship is required.
Hybrid role based in Falls Church, VA, or remote with regular travel (10%-25%).

The likely salary range for this position is $164,382 - $189,750. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
