Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or STEM-related field; 8+ years experience, or Master’s with 6+ years experience.
  • Ability to obtain/maintain Secret clearance.
  • Experience with FED, RF Electronics, RF Cabling, COTS procurement/testing, and System Cabling.
  • Experience with hardware design/integration & test and moving hardware through factory (BWI).
  • Proficiency with CAM activities and EVMS; strong schedule communication.
  • Experience leading IPTs or program-management roles with 1.5+ years in leadership.
  • Available onsite at BWI facility during first shift.

Responsibilities

  • Lead an engineering team to transition designs to production.
  • Act as the technical authority for hardware/software/test across program elements.
  • Coordinate requirements development, design, verification, and validation activities.
  • Ensure adherence to engineering processes and program baselines; ensure cross-functional integration.

This position is in Linthicum, MD.This IPT Lead will be required to lead an engineering team working to transition designs to production for a very important sector priority program with many time-critical elements and high management visibility. They are the definitive technical authority for all aspects of engineering on all program elements (hardware/software/support/test) and leads a multi disciplined engineering team managing the technical performance of the program meeting cost and schedule requirements including subcontracted elements. Coordinates requirements development, hardware/software design, verification, and validation activities. Ensures that the program is adhering to sound engineering processes in the development, production, test and sustainment of products for our customers and is compliant with company policies, procedures, and quality standards. Maintains cognizance over technical activities within program IPTs and ensures horizontal integration of the best engineering practices across the company. Continually coordinates with the systems engineering and program integration team (PIT) leader to ensure the execution of program statement of work and baselines and serves as the technical point of contact with the customer.The selected candidate will perform in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and collaborative/team settings. The selected candidate is expected to be self-motivated, highly organized, detail oriented and possess effective verbal and written communication skills.These roles are contingent upon candidates ability to obtain and maintain government Secret Clearance, and to be SAP Clearable.Basic Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, or STEM-related degree, with 8 years of industry experience, or Master’s degree and 6 years of industry experience. An additional 4 years experience in lieu of a degree is acceptable.Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret government clearanceExperience with Front End Design (FED), RF Electronics, RF Cabling, COTS procurement and testing, and System CablingExperience with hardware design and/or hardware integration & test and/or experience moving hardware through the BWI factoryDemonstrated proficiency in Control Account Manager (CAM) activities and the Earned Value Management system (EVMS)Fluency with developing and executing project schedulesExperience reporting project status to program, functional management and/or customersDemonstrated leadership skills with 1.5 years minimum experience as an Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead, program manager or other leadership position leading engineers supporting a program or business functionAvailable onsite at the BWI facility during first shiftMechanically focused engineer with experience making drawing updates and pushing drawing through processPreferred Qualifications:Demonstrated ability to plan, execute and lead a hardware team to meet cost, schedule and technical performanceLeadership of multi‑site or multi‑sector IPTsExperience with Model‑Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools (e.g., Cameo, MagicDraw, IBM Rational DOORS)Experience supporting Basis of Estimates (BOEs) and proposalsExperience with REX (receiver/exciter) through design or integration and test, Antenna Subsystem, and/or general RF Integration and test for hardwareExperience identifying and quantifying risks/opportunitiesExperience working with Global Supply Chain and Manufacturing Material ProcessingExperience with the Root Cause Correction Action (RCCA) processExperience managing products in the critical path of a programExperience with LRU/LRM Integration and testing for an EMD product transitioning to productionPMP certification a plusActive and current Top Secret government clearance a plusPrimary Level Salary Range: $135,800.00 - $203,600.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
