Job summary

H. T. PROF Group in Cambridge, MA is seeking a Senior Plumbing and Fire Protection Engineer to lead projects from concept through construction. The role involves labs, data centers, schools, and offices in the Boston area, with a hybrid schedule of three days in the office.

You will design domestic water and fire protection systems, produce construction documents in Revit, coordinate with other disciplines, and mentor junior staff while maintaining ongoing client relationships.

Qualifications

• 8 to 12 years of plumbing and fire protection design at a consulting engineering or A/E firm.
• Experience in Revit.
• A bachelor’s in mechanical engineering, or equivalent experience in the discipline.

Responsibilities

• Design domestic water, sanitary and waste, storm, and gas systems, plus sprinkler and standpipe.
• Produce full construction documents in Revit and coordinate the model with other disciplines.
• Handle code and AHJ review.
• Stay with projects through construction administration (submittals, RFIs, site visits).
• Mentor and train junior staff.
• Work directly with clients.

Sr Plumbing and Fire Protection Engineer

Our client is an employee-owned (ESOP) architecture and engineering firm that designs the buildings it engineers. They are looking for a senior plumbing and fire protection engineer to run their own projects and mentor the less experienced staff.

You would be responsible for design on your own projects and stay with them the whole way, from concept through construction administration. The work is labs, data centers, schools and universities, and offices in and around Boston.

The position is hybrid, three days a week in office.

What you would be doing:
