Job summary

Red Hat is seeking a seasoned Partner Technical Account Manager (PTAM) to lead strategic partnerships with enterprise customers. The role involves deep technical guidance for Red Hat Enterprise Linux-based solutions, proactive issue prevention, and strong collaboration with Engineering, Product Management, and Global Support teams.

You will mentor others, manage partner engagements, and advocate for customers across regions.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Linux system administration experience.
  • Hands-on experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux in production.
  • Experience administering Linux storage using Logical Volumes (LVM).
  • Proficient in Linux patching strategies and tooling for large deployments.
  • Strong Linux troubleshooting in physical and virtual environments.
  • Familiarity with Linux containers and container management tools.
  • Knowledge of cloud and server virtualization.
  • Willingness to stay current on tech and develop professionally.
  • Ability to manage and grow enterprise partner relationships with proactive support.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication; stakeholder engagement.
  • Understanding of enterprise architecture and business drivers.
  • Ability to manage multiple issues/projects with attention to detail.
  • Direct experience with various technology partners.
  • Ability to deliver presentations on technical topics.
  • RHCE or equivalent certification is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a tech discipline; CS or engineering preferred.
  • Experience with RHEL Image Mode.
  • Leadership or mentorship experience in technical roles.
  • Kernel and filesystem knowledge.
  • Enterprise cloud (IaaS/PaaS/SaaS) expertise.
  • Knowledge of IT automation (Ansible).
  • Experience containerizing apps for cloud deployment.
  • Familiarity with Git and storage administration.

Responsibilities

About the role:In this role, you will collaborate with a dedicated team of Red Hatters supporting our partners. You will provide hands-on technical and architectural guidance for partners building solutions using Red Hat Enterprise Linux. At Red Hat, partner support includes far more than just “break-fix” solutions. Partner Technical account management is a premium support offering that builds, maintains, and grows long-lasting loyalty between Red Hat and our partners.You will forge relationships with your partners, develop a deep technical understanding of their Red Hat implementation, share technical best practices and act as point of contact for any major incidents, managing the partner’s expectations and communications through resolution of such incidents. You will tailor support for each partner, work closely with the extended virtual account team and advocate on their behalf. At the same time, you'll work closely with our Engineering, Research and Development, Product Management, and Global Support teams to debug, test, and resolve issues.
