Job summary

Hargrove is seeking a seasoned planning and scheduling professional to lead heavy industrial project planning, cost control, and estimating initiatives in our Alabama operations. You will develop and update project schedules, manage Earned Value, and coordinate change notices to keep projects on track.

The role requires 5+ years in industrial planning, strong communication, and expertise with Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project. Bachelor's degree preferred; PMI/AACE certification is desirable.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of relevant industrial planning, scheduling, cost control and estimating.
  • Education: high school diploma required; bachelor/master preferred in construction-related field.
  • AACE International or PMI certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of project controls deliverables and scheduling constraints.

Responsibilities

  • Develop schedules and analysis for contract packages to forecast construction activities and identify coordination issues where safety and schedule can be in conflict.
  • Develop, monitor and update schedules via meetings, coordination interviews and field verification.
  • Complete understanding of Earned Value and Project Productivity.
  • Monitor and maintain the change notice/change order management system.
  • Assist in facilitating weekly change notice hearings and change committee meetings.

What You'll Be Doing

Job Scope: Generally responsible for planning and scheduling heavy industrial engineering projects, monitoring project costs and/or estimating projects. Work will be performed under minimal supervision.

Primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Developing schedules and analysis for contract packages to forecast construction activities and identify coordination issues where safety and schedule can potentially be in conflict.
  • Developing, monitoring and updating schedules by obtaining updates through meetings, construction coordination interviews and field verification.
  • Complete understanding of Earned Value and Project Productivity.
  • Monitoring and maintaining the change notice/change order management system.
  • Assisting in facilitating weekly change notice hearings and change committee meetings.

Ideal Background

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Construction Science, Building Science or related field is highly preferred.

Certification: AACE International or Project Management Institute (PMI) certification is preferred.

Experience: This position requires 5+ years of relevant industrial experience in planning, scheduling, cost control and estimating.

  • Knowledge of other disciplines deliverable development to ensure coordination of efforts.
  • Knowledge and understanding of schedule constraints and information requirements for the production of all project controls deliverables.
  • Experienced in scheduling professional service hours and assessing the progress and quality of project controls work.
  • Ability to accurately estimate completion of assigned tasks.
  • Proficient in the use of Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project scheduling software.
  • Proficient in the use of Timberline Estimating software.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit, stand or walk for long periods of time.
