Hargrove Engineers & Constructors seeks a lead designer to supervise a team of designers and provide technical direction for mechanical and piping projects in Pasadena. You will ensure on-time delivery within budget and quality expectations, acting as a technical specialist on complex assignments.
The role requires extensive experience (20+ years) in mechanical and piping design, with strong drafting standards knowledge and the ability to mentor staff and coordinate with other disciplines.
Job Scope: Generally responsible for supervision and technical direction over a team of designers when functioning as a lead designer. As lead designer, responsibilities will include total delivery of the mechanical and piping deliverables and services on time, within performance budget and meeting quality expectations. Duties may include performing advanced design work serving as a technical specialist for a complex design assignment. This level requires extensive progressive experience in mechanical and piping design and involves utilization of project controls for cost, schedule and quality of projects. This work will be performed under minimal supervision.
Primary responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
Associate degree in Engineering Technology or Computer-Aided Drafting is required. Certification: SPED (Society of Piping Engineers and Designers) Certification is preferred. Experience: This position requires 20 or more years of relevant industrial experience in mechanical/piping drafting and design.
