Sr. Phlebotomy Supervisor – Wallingford, CT (Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with rotational weekends). Pay range: $69,900 - $125,900/year. Salary based on skills, training, experience, education, and certifications. Eligible for an annual performance bonus.

Responsibilities
- Act as Territory Manager in their absence to ensure efficient day‑to‑day operations of all Phlebotomy Services in the territory.
- Work closely with the Territory Manager during the onboarding process for all newly hired supervisors; provide peer mentorship and guidance.
- Conduct coaching/mentoring and project facilitation/execution based on the needs of the territory and/or region.
- Travel/visit territory at least 1–2 days per month.
- Participate in the interview and selection process for all territory supervisors.
- Assist the territory manager as needed to drive Every Day Excellence.
- Demonstrate and promote Quest Diagnostics behaviors and values to contribute to overall vision, goals, and strategy.
- Ensure fiscal responsibilities of the department are met; implement cost containment programs, manage overtime, participate in standardization initiatives, and assess capital expenditures.
- Analyze and manage a departmental budget for manpower and operational costs.
- Organize and lead projects within the workgroup and with cross‑functional groups; may be required to give presentations.
- Implement SOPs for phlebotomy services per Quest Diagnostics guidelines.
- Ensure all federal, state, and local licensure requirements are met, working with QA and Medical Director offices.
- Perform site visits at all assigned PSCs/IOPs and mobile phlebotomy sites; document findings and conduct QA audits.
- Prepare month‑end reports.
- Investigate, resolve, and respond to internal and external customer complaints efficiently using Everyday Excellence Principles.
- Supervise, train, coach, and develop new employees and all staff on job duties, compliance, and annual competency requirements.
- Prepare employee schedules, monitor attendance and performance, maintain adequate coverage, and provide corrective action as required; administer annual performance appraisals.
- Oversee inventory processes for supervised facilities.
- Relocate/open/close PSCs and IOPs as needed.
- Participate in the interview, selection, and hiring of new employees that demonstrate Quest behaviors.

- Ensure accuracy of invoice and expense coding and associated records.
- Ensure accuracy of payroll and associated records.
- Properly maintain required records and documentation.
- Know, understand, and comply with company and departmental policies, protocols, and procedures, including Safety, Compliance, and Quality Assurance.
- Demonstrate organizational commitment.
- Ensure all employees meet driving requirements on company business.
- Perform all other duties as assigned within the scope of the position.
Qualifications
Preferred Work Experience
- Minimum 3 years supervisory experience.
- 5+ years’ experience in phlebotomy, laboratory, or other health care environment.
- QMS/Project management experience.
- Demonstrated leadership experience.
- Keyboard/data entry application; PC experience.
- Customer service in a service environment.
Physical And Mental Requirements
- Position requires travel.
- Extensive use of phone and PC.
- Prolonged standing/sitting.
- Fine dexterity with hands/steadiness.
- Able to lift up to 25 pounds; may occasionally need to lift 40 pounds; carrying up to 15 pounds for several minutes at a time.
- Talking, walking, balancing, bending/kneeling, pushing/pulling, reaching/twisting.
Knowledge
- Ability to communicate effectively in English.
Skills
- Flexible and available based on staffing requirements (weekends, holidays, on‑call, overtime).

Education
- Bachelor’s Degree (Preferred).
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required).
