Job summary

This is a high-responsibility, senior-level role with schedule: Mon-Thurs 11am-9pm. Requirements include 5+ years of related experience, a Tennessee Pharmacy Technician license, and experience in prescription fulfillment and inventory management.

Responsibilities

• Operate automated pharmacy sorting and counting equipment and perform manual dispensing as needed.
• Assist pharmacists with medication preparation and dispensing following SOPs.
• Troubleshoot dispensing equipment and support setup of new medications for dispensing.
• Help develop or update inventory SOPs and work instructions.

As a Senior Pharmacy Technician – Central Fill, you will support safe, accurate, and efficient pharmacy operations by performing advanced pharmacy technician, inventory, and medication fulfillment activities. You will maintain pharmaceutical inventory, operate automated sorting and counting equipment, assist with prescription preparation, and troubleshoot dispensing equipment. This senior-level role also supports new drug setup, client coordination, and development of standard operating procedures and work instructions.

Schedule: Monday - Thursday / 11 am - 9 pm

What You’ll Do

• Receive, store, replenish, and maintain pharmaceutical inventory, including identifying and removing short-dated, expired, or recalled products and coordinating applicable product returns.
• Maintain accurate inventory records by counting stock, entering inventory data, stocking supplies, and replenishing products used in prescription fulfillment.
• Operate automated pharmacy sorting and counting equipment and perform manual medication picking and entry as needed.
• Fill medication bottles\ and dispensing cells with prescribed tablets and capsules, apply prescription labels, and perform required verification activities.
• Assist pharmacists with medication preparation and dispensing activities in accordance with established pharmacy procedures.
• Troubleshoot dispensing equipment, support the setup of new medications for dispensing, and help maintain uninterrupted availability of consignment medications.
• Support continuous improvement by developing or updating pharmacy inventory standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
• Other duties may be assigned as needed to meet Company goals.

Basic Requirements

• Typically requires 5+ years of related experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current Tennessee Pharmacy Technician license.
• Pharmacy technician experience involving prescription fulfillment, medication dispensing, pharmacy inventory, or related pharmacy operations.

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. In addition to base pay, other compensation, such as an annual bonus or long-term incentive opportunities may be offered. Our Base Pay Range for this position $20.04 - $33.40
