Job summary

ChristianaCare in Delaware seeks an experienced RN leader to join our Accreditation team as Senior Performance Improvement Program Manager. You’ll drive system-wide quality, safety, and performance initiatives with senior leaders across nursing, medical, and operations.

The role requires Lean Six Sigma/quality training, RCA experience, and strong project management. Expect collaboration, mentorship, and a focus on high reliability and sustainable change.

Qualifications

  • RN license required.
  • BSN required; Master’s degree in nursing/healthcare or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience using performance/improvement science methodologies or RCA.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proven success leading quality, safety, or transformational initiatives.
  • Formal project management training or equivalent experience.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification or comparable training.
  • NAHQ certification required within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Lead complex, multis-disciplinary performance improvement, quality, patient safety, and organizational change initiatives across the health system.
  • Partner with nursing, physician, operational, and senior leaders to identify opportunities and implement sustainable solutions.
  • Apply improvement methodologies including Lean, Six Sigma, RCA, FMEA, PDCA, and other quality tools.
  • Translate clinical and operational data into actionable strategies, dashboards, scorecards, and measurable outcomes.
  • Lead projects from assessment through implementation, measurement, and sustainment.
  • Support organizational readiness for accreditation, regulatory requirements, and disease-specific certifications.
  • Coach and mentor healthcare professionals in performance improvement and project management methodologies.

ChristianaCare is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse and healthcare leader to join our Accreditation team as a Senior Performance Improvement Program Manager - RN. This opportunity may be particularly attractive to an experienced Assistant Nurse Manager, Nurse Manager, RN Quality/Patient Safety professional, or clinical performance improvement leader who wants to broaden their impact beyond day-to-day unit operations. If you have successfully led clinical teams, improved processes and outcomes, used data to drive decisions, and influenced change across disciplines, this role provides an opportunity to bring those skills to system-level performance improvement and healthcare transformation. Working collaboratively with nursing, physician, operational, quality, and senior leaders, you will lead complex, system-level initiatives designed to create measurable and sustainable improvements in the way care is delivered.

What You’ll Do

Qualifications
  • Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Master’s degree in nursing, healthcare, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience utilizing performance/improvement science methodologies and/or Root Cause Analysis
  • Experience leading and facilitating multidisciplinary teams
  • Demonstrated success leading complex quality, safety, performance improvement, or transformational change initiatives
  • Formal project management training or equivalent experience managing complex, senior-level projects across multiple service lines
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification or comparable performance improvement training
  • Ability to influence, engage, and collaborate effectively with clinical, operational, and senior leadership
  • Healthcare quality certification through the National Association for Healthcare Quality (NAHQ) is required within one year of hire.

Annual Compensation Range $94,577.60 - $151,361.60

This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting.

The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
