Amazon is seeking a Senior Operations Manager at the CMH4 building in West Jefferson, OH. You will own the operation, lead a large team, and drive Lean initiatives to heighten safety, quality and customer satisfaction.

You will collaborate with HR, Finance, Facilities, Safety and IT to secure resources and implement improvements across the network. This hands-on leadership role requires strong change management and a focus on long-term development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• 7+ years direct management experience in manufacturing, production or distribution.
• Experience with performance metrics, process improvement and Lean techniques.
• Experience with staffing lifecycle: interviewing, hiring, performance management, promotions and termination.

Responsibilities

• Own the operation with budgetary accountability and operational excellence across your area (Inbound or Outbound).
• Lead and develop a team of Operations and Area Managers, setting expectations and accountability.
• Champion Lean initiatives and quality programs to exceed business goals.
• Ensure safety, quality and performance standards are met daily to deliver a world-class customer experience.
• Collaborate with HR, Finance, Facilities, Safety, IT and peers to secure resources and drive site-wide success.
• Nurture and translate frontline ideas into actionable improvements across the network.
• Share best practices across all departments, shifts, and the broader network.

What You'll Do

• Own the operation – Take full accountability for budgetary performance, people development, and operational excellence across your functional area (Inbound or Outbound).
• Lead and develop leaders – Manage, coach, and mentor a team of Operations and Area Managers, setting clear expectations and holding them accountable while building the next generation of Amazon leaders.
• Drive continuous improvement – Champion Lean initiatives, process innovations, and quality programs that push your team and the FC to exceed business goals.
• Deliver a world‑class customer experience – Ensure safety, quality, and performance standards are met or exceeded every single day.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally – Partner with HR, Finance, Facilities, Safety, IT, and peer leaders to secure resources, share best practices, and drive site‑wide success.
• Cultivate ideas – Source and nurture innovative ideas from your team, translating them into actionable improvement plans that raise the bar across the network.
• Share best practices – Take proactive steps to ensure best practices are shared across all departments, shifts, and the broader network.

Additional Job Elements to this Hands‑On Leadership Role

• Lift and move totes up to 49 pounds each
• Regular bending, lifting, stretching and reaching both below the waist and above the head
• Walking in the FC and around area with great frequency; facilities are over a quarter mile in length
• Continual standing and/or walking an average of 5 miles daily
• Ability to work in construction / distribution environments that may be noisy, unlit, unheated, not air‑conditioned
• Able to access all areas of building (ascending and descending ladders, stairs, gangways safely and without limitation)

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent
• Work flexible hours as business demands, including overnight, weekends and holidays
• 7+ years direct management experience, including a salaried workforce, in a manufacturing, production or distribution environment
• Prior experience with performance metrics, process improvement and Lean techniques
• Prior experience with the full staffing lifecycle, including interviewing, hiring, performance management, promotions and termination

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to handle changing priorities and use good judgment in stressful situations
• Interest in long‑term career development through assignments in multiple FCs across the nation
• Experience with a contingent workforce during peak seasons
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations or related field. MBA preferred

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location. Amazon offers comprehensive benefits:
