Amazon.com Services LLC is seeking a Senior Operations Manager for the IGQ1 building in Markham, IL. You will lead a large-scale operation delivering for millions of customers, driving Lean initiatives, safety and quality, and cross-functional collaboration across HR, Finance, Facilities, and IT.

Responsibilities include owning budgetary performance, developing leaders, and building a high-performing team across inbound or outbound functions, with flexibility to meet business needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• 7+ years direct management experience in a manufacturing, production or distribution environment.
• Experience with performance metrics, process improvement and Lean techniques.
• Experience with staffing lifecycle: interviewing, hiring, performance management, promotions and termination.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including overnight, weekends and holidays.

As a Senior Operations Manager at our IGQ1 building in Markham,IL, you\'ll be at the helm of a large-scale operation that delivers for millions of Amazon customers every day. What You\'ll Do

• Own the operation – Take full accountability for budgetary performance, people development, and operational excellence across your functional area (Inbound or Outbound).
• Lead and develop leaders – Manage, coach, and mentor a team of Operations and Area Managers, setting clear expectations and holding them accountable while building the next generation of Amazon leaders.

• Deliver a world-class customer experience – Ensure safety, quality, and performance standards are met or exceeded every single day.
• Collaborate cross-functionally – Partner with HR, Finance, Facilities, Safety, IT, and peer leaders to secure resources, share best practices, and drive site-wide success.
• Cultivate ideas – Source and nurture innovative ideas from your team, translating them into actionable improvement plans that raise the bar across the network.
• Share best practices – Take proactive steps to ensure best practices are shared across all departments, shifts, and the broader network.

Additional Job Elements to this Hands-On Leadership Role

• Lift and move totes up to 49 pounds each
• Regular bending, lifting, stretching and reaching both below the waist and above the head
• Walking in the FC and around area with great frequency; facilities are over a quarter mile in length
• Continual standing and/or walking an average of 5 miles daily
• Ability to work in construction / distribution environments that may be noisy, unlit, unheated, not air-conditioned
• Able to access all areas of building (ascending and descending ladders, stairs, gangways safely and without limitation)

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor\'s degree or equivalent
• Work flexible hours as business demands, including overnight, weekends and holidays
• 7+ years direct management experience, including a salaried workforce, in a manufacturing, production or distribution environment
• Prior experience with performance metrics, process improvement and Lean techniques
• Prior experience with the full staffing lifecycle, including interviewing, hiring, performance management, promotions and termination

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to handle changing priorities and use good judgment in stressful situations
• Interest in long-term career development through assignments in multiple FCs across the nation
• Experience with a contingent workforce during peak seasons
• Bachelor\'s degree in Engineering, Operations or related field. MBA preferred

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
